We have had an odd winter in New Hampshire. Not much snow and warmish weather.

The weather forecasters were suffering through withdrawal with no apocalyptic snow storms to hype. Then they predicted a cold snap for this weekend.
And the media cranked up the hype machine. Really? It is February in NH. It is supposed to be cold out. We can deal with it.

They did actually get the forecast right. Minus 14 at my house at 6:30 AM

Now at 10:40 with full sun on the sensor it is still reading -1F. A good day to stay in and peruse DFS.

Anybody else hit wit this cold snap?

Yes. Here in MI last night on my way home my car's thermometer read -4. But like you said, it's winter. Nothing new here. You gotta love how they sensationalize the weather to try and make it into some form of entertainment. The weather channel is the worst with their naming of every little snow storm that comes through, trying to make it into some hurricane-like event every time. It's ridiculous because then it becomes a "boy who cried wolf" situation where when a really serious storm happens, people might not take it seriously because they're so used to the forecasters over-hyping every weather system that moves in.

Thankfully, it's sunny and warm here in San Diego. I'm just getting over a mild case of the flu so, when I step outside, the warm sun on my back feels terrific.

I think it's in the teens here in Ohio. About time we had some winter.

I have a theory on this. Technology has advanced to the point where the media weather is no longer needed. Be it a home weather station like I use and/or especially a phone weather app you can get good accurate forecasts instantly and anywhere. Who needs to watch the news, listen to the radio or read the paper for weather.

Big media recognizes this so they sensationalize the weather to draw viewers or readers.

Freddy,
Sorry to hear you had the flu. Glad you are past the worst and recovering. Drink tea. Lots of tea. Good for flu sufferers in SD and also shiverers in NH.

That'll put some frost on the pumpkin. Or plural as the case may be...

Great weather here in Austin, shorts all weekend which is honestly atypical but will enjoy it while we can.

Stay warm all!

Manhattan was miserably cold yesterday. Thankfully, the rest of the week looks decent.

Good thing we didn't hike Whiteface Mountain yesterday...
