Short ,subsequent and overlapping strokes.
Some residual lather ,me thinks ,
it aids for more smoothness .

Been a while since I used the Yates, but if my memory is correct, no. I found the Yates H felt like it was going to bite me without actually being as efficient as it felt like it should be. The GC 1.05 is the opposite. Feels very smooth and comfortable and shaves a bit more efficiently than it feels.

Today I pitted the 1.05-P against 7 days growth with a 1st use Parker Platinum blade. Impressive results all the way around. The RR with the Parker was smooth, blade feel was there but by no means overwhelming, and the first pass was quite clean. I have no idea the qualification for a SAS shave, but by the looks in my poor ass bathroom lighting, I could have rinsed and left if I needed to. I didn't look like I needed a shave. I did do my second pass and some touchup buffing. A smooth, damn near BBS (I have a problem with it feeling BBS when my face is wet, then not quite so after everything dries down), irritation, nick free shave. Received some light feedback from the alcohol based AS that dissipated quicker than it set in. All in all agreat shave. I think razorock really hit it out of the park with this plate. This is the GC SB plate I wanted. The .68 & .84 just weren't enough for me. This is a perfect combination of efficiency while still maintaining smoothness and comfort.

Had my first shave with a GC 1.05.
My initial impressions are the following:

- GC 1.05 -P is a smoother ,more "easy-going" / "gentle"
razor than the GC .84-P ,GC .84OC
and Lupo .95 sb are.It has to be that somewhere inside the razor
there's an alien tech ,auto pilot, razor blade control system with A.I. capabilities. At least ,that's the best explanation I 've come up with so far .

- Blade feel and shaving efficiency are both higher than those
of the GC .84-P ,but almost equal ( might be a tad ,just a half-click lower ) than those of both the GC .84OC and Lupo .95 sb.
I need more shaves with the GC 1.05 in order to evaluate
more precisely it's efficiency .
But it felt that had just a tiny bit less blade feel
than both the GC.84OC and Lupo .95 sb.
Two passes ( WTG & ATG ) and some touch-
ups and the final result was near BBS territory.
Blade used was a Gillette Wilkinson Sword ,
at it's third use.

- What a great shaving tool it is  !
It gave me the smoothest -almost ethereal- ATG pass ever !
An almost "auto-pilot" DE razor with rather high efficiency .

- Yeap,it's surely able to dethrone my GC.84OC
( " just a single one razor,The One !" shaver here )

I have 6 shaves with the GC 1.05-P, using a few different handles and a couple of different blades. I shave my head using a single XTG pass, and my neck using 2 WTG passes. I've never used any of the Gamechangers or Lupos, so unfortunately can't compare to those. I do think my original comparison to the Haircut & Shave Co. Ti083 is pretty close, both in terms of efficiency and blade feel. If anything the GC 1.05 might be a bit more efficient than the Ti083. I do need a bit more pressure than I typically use in order to achieve what I consider a DFS level shave. But the slight increase in pressure doesn't add any discomfort. The other razor I might compare it to is the Blackbird. Similar in efficiency, but more comfortable.

I own the GC .84OC bit not the Lupo SB, I have the .95OC. I do like them all, but I do think I may favor the Lupo. The 1.05-P is fantastic and it is definitely what I like as the .68 & .84 SB's didn't work for me.

I enjoy using the 1.05-P, it definitely gives me what I couldn't get from the .68 or the .84. It definitely has less blade feel than the Blackbird, no doubt. I find it very efficient while still being smooth and comfortable. I'm not sure how the efficiency compares directly to the Blackbird, I haven't compared them directly. I have never used any H&S so I can't comment on those.
