A comparison between an OC razor versus a SB razor during shaving,
is legitimate enough unless a single case : If the user's technique involves
short ,subsequent strokes ,which usually are overlapping also .
Because of the higher amount of residual lather after a pass ,
the OC razor obviously will outperform the SB razor ,in terms of smoothness.
That fact also makes the OC razors the perfect tools for buffering .
OC razors do not clog ,are easy to rinse off from stubble & lather and
they allow for some lather to reside on the skin after a pass .
Perfect tools for short ,subsequent and overlapping strokes .
On the other hand ,SB razors are the ideal tools for longer razor strokes ,
J hooks , G(illette)-slides and all the rest of razorbatics outta there.
The solid bars won't "catch" or 'bite' on the skin, during fast and long strokes as an open comb's teeth may do.
But they tend to clog with "stubble mixed with lather" goo ,
rather too often-diminishing efficiency-wise and needing a
rinse off to bring their initial efficiency back.
Because OC & SB razors ,each fit better to
different shaving technique approaches ,
comparing them is not that straightforward .
Just my 2 cents.
