I have a habit of collecting cardboard boxes of various sizes, for sending items I sell on the forum BST. And eventually this always gets out of control, overflowing whatever storage area I have and necessitating a purge. So today I culled the boxes, breaking down the discards and tossing them into the recycling, and reorganizing the remainder into nests. Now our master bedroom closet is - for the moment, at least - reasonably organized and partially empty, and I feel like the morning has been productive.

I call it a closet colonic.

Hahahahahaa.

I have been guilty of hoarding cardboard boxes too. The wife purged the stash once and I lost some stuff that I wanted to keep but was being lazy about organizing. Original packaging and a Paladin tube with brush specs... Oh well.

Now I just keep a Rubbermaid tub for packing peanuts and sometimes bubble wrap if it's clean. That and I put anything worth holding onto in a safe place immediately too.

I have since been discarding most incoming boxes and try to only use new Flat Rate shipping boxes to send stuff out. They're free and store flat. Takes up less space for me and looks nicer than a reused one for anyone I am shipping to.

My wife hates it!  She call it the box farm, lol......

It is good now that I have settled on my gear, but four years ago, oh mama!

Good work, John!
Fortunately for me, I have reduced the items in my den and I don't need to sell as often as I once did! It is always a bit of a challenge to find the proper size boxes. Big Grin

I save some of my boxes as well. I also save the paper stuffing and bubble wrap that usually comes in the boxes from my online orders. my work has a tendency to throw away bubble wrap from packages its received, so I just take it home with me!

John, and the rest of you, I cannot tell you how relieved I am to know that I am not the only one who hoards boxes for reshipping only to find that they have taken over my closet rather than get used. Rolleyes

For me they stack up in the basement - I get tired of them - bundle them up and take them to the recycling dumpsters.

Repeat the process....
