Never giving it a chance to perform in another razor or setting (if using an adjustable). We just toss the blade and publish the horror story on the inter webs. Well, I'm advocating for change. I think if you have a subpar or negative experience with a blade, it's your responsibility to work your way, somehow, thru the rest of that tuck. Different razor. Different setting on the adjustable razor that you just used. Something. Change it up. Don't just declare a whole brand "junk" because you got razor burn. Very recently I've been trying Treet carbon (black beauty) blades and haven't been getting very good results. Halfway thru a tuck and I'm wanting to toss these things into the Pacific Ocean. But there's the off chance I'll load one into my Rockwell T2 and set it on 5, then come up with the smoothest shave this side of a greek barber shop. Who knows? I can certainly state that I don't ever want to shave with one in my Lupo 95, but what about my DE89? What about my Sledgehammer? Who knows? Give some of these blades a chance.

All you are saying is give blades a chance...

One blade that gets love that I would put at the bottom for me is Voskhod. Lots of tugging, not smooth at all.

The worst for me so far have been Personna Comfort Coated and Kai. Tried both in a few different razors and it was always very rough going. I've really only tried the blades regarded as top notch(by most people online) as I'm still fairly new. I have plenty of much cheaper, mixed reviewed blades to try and be disappointed in, though! I still struggle to even make a consistent lather, so I know my opinion on these things is basically worthless  Big Grin

My least favourite is Wilkinson Sword. These:

They just feel too rough to me.
To add insult to injury, they are the only brand of DE blades I can find in brick & mortar stores around here, and are way overpriced at $4 to $5 for the 5-pack.

A runner-up is the blades that came with my QShave Futur clone, but there's a story with them.

The first shave with them was amazingly good, super-sharp for a really close shave.
Second shave: meh.
Third shave: super rough, could not finish with it, and swapped it out mid-shave for some other brand.

If they are the same, I remember those Wilkinson Sword blades from the '70s. They are what made me swear off DE razors and move to an injector.

ZaZa blades - like broken glass on my face. And I did try them in different razors. They suck
Derby - could not get them to work well regardless
Dorco - tried the 300's and no joy. Haven't tried others

The blades that came with a Twig went into the trash after one stroke. India made London Bridge are trash. I tossed 200 fake Bic CPs as well.
