Blutt BR-1 Safety Razor - Made in Switzerland

I have one of these with all four baseplates available. For me, Blutt covers most of the spectrum. Agree that the basic characteristics of this razor is mild. While the mildest plate does not work for me, both 086 and 099 are great preformers, placed somewhere around CG Level 2. The latest 120 plate is high efficient without being super aggressive, somewhere between CG Level 2 and Level 3.

As a Swiss guy, Blutt is a must for me.

This is really good info. I was thinking about the .67, but maybe the .86 is better. I actually may just order all the base plates like you did. I have a full set of CG plates. The L1 is my daily shaver. Quick safe and easy. No fancy soaps, etc. Level2 is my weekend shaver when I break out the nice soaps and brushes. Great shave, but not every day. The L3 is my "OK, are you ready for this" razor. Full prep, best soaps, and properly caffeinated. Honestly, it's too much for me by a long shot. I usually end up sore afterwards, but it is a good challenge to improve my technique.

It sounds like the .67 is less than the CG L1, and the 1.2 is more than the CG L2, but less than the CG L3. Honestly, the whole range sounds just about perfect to me. Thanks again for the info!

I got my BR 1 on order. I went with .67mm gap to begin with because I want to use this daily and with little prep. I am hoping to purchase all the other plates when they become available again because I like having complete sets of things

I understand that Blutt (with two "T"s) means "bare", but I did notice that the English translated page translates it to "blood". I will include a screen shot below because I know that's been a point of confusion. Personally, for me, my "blood razor" is the CG Lvl 3, LOL.

Anyhow, really excited to get it and start using it. Also hoping the individual plates will become available again pretty soon!

Well you made awesome purchase  I’m sure you’ll be Happy I have .86 which plate C in Karve little more efficient but smooth….

No question about Blutt it’s built and Quality is Top Notch that’s for sure..

I got this razor on Tuesday. I've had two shaves with it and I have to say it's my favorite razor. It is absolutely EVERYTHING I wanted it to be. A super easy daily driver than can be used before coffee after stumbling out of bed half-awake. That's honestly most of my weekday shaving. I have the Wolfman WR1 .61 for when I want to fancy things up. This is my new daily workhorse.

The craftsmanship is simply OUTSTANDING. I would put it on-par with Wolfman, but with a Swiss aesthetic. I don't know what he does to get that finish, but while not polished, it is a SUPERB matte. Maybe bead blasting, maybe tumbling? Regardless, somehow he manages to get that finish while keeping the edges crips, which is challenging. I might have made the knurls just slightly deeper myself, but they are perfectly fine and grippy. For the other machinists out there, I'm calling this razor the SCHAUBLIN 125 of razors. May I suggest offing a package of all four plates, which would be the SCHAUBLIN 125C of razors

This is everything I expect of the SWISS MADE brand. Absolute perfection. My only complaint is that I can't buy the other three plates individually at this exact moment, because I would do so in an instant. This is my new favorite razor.

What base plate would fit the efficiency of something between CG Lvl 1 and Lvl 2? Someone comparing. 67 with Lvl 1 got me thinking if it's going to be too mild for a daily shaver? Is 0.86 something to latch onto?

I got the .67 and it's more mild than a CG Lvl 1. I think I remember AlanH81 saying that the .86 is pretty comparable to the CG Lvl 1. So if you're looking for something betwen CG Lvl 1 and 2, the .99 seems like the ticket. Maybe wait for AlanH81 to chime in though because I believe he has all the BR plates and also all of the GC plates.

This is hard to say but I’m guessing .86 you’ll be good with it.

As I understand, Blutt reduces blade exposure while gap increases. With this, he maintains a smooth facefeel while efficency gets higher.

Where does the 1.20 plate fall as far as efficiency?
