Blades: Remove after every shave?

Only if the person in question has a stick up his ... never mind.

If I'm doing a 30 day challenge with any one razor, I back off the head, run water across the blades and let the razor and blade dry together. If I'm flipping between razors, I remove it every time otherwise a wet/damp blade could potentially sit in a razor for weeks before I rotate back to that razor.

The only time I take out the blade, clean ad dry the razor and blade is when I am involved in a Razor Tour of some sort. I try not to be an animal when its a communal razor =).
For my own razors, I'm an animal. My 3 year old BBS-1 has calcium deposits on it. Lol I'm exaggerating but there is plenty soap scum I'm sure.

I will remove and rinse my razor blades regardless of which razor blade I am using with soap and water. I will shake dry or fan dry and not wipe them. I just go through this ritual every time I shave

I always remove, rinse and pat the blade dry. I then set it in a safe spot on the counter for the next day. I do this because I usually use a different razor everyday and I want to keep only one unwrapped blade out at time.

Nope. I use the blade 3-5 times then remove the blade to change out. I really wipe the razor down good and replace with new blade.

Am late to the game on this but here's my 2.5 cents: it depends.

With stainless steel razors, even though they're "stainless," to avoid testing that I usually remove the blade after the shave, rinse and clean the razor and let it dry, and rinse the blade. It then goes into the cabinet next to a die, which will be turned to show me the number of times the blade has been used. Very OCD.

If it's a razor with a coating and I plan to use it the following day, I often will leave the blade in. My Merkur 34C, my Mergress, and my Gillettes are razors that often get the blade left in for the duration of the blade's life provided I'm not planning to use a different razor for a few shaves.

With the Feather AC the blade is always removed and rinsed after every shave.

I admire those who leave the blades in. There's a cavalier devil may care quality to that I wish I had.

I must admit to being surprised at the poll results, I would have predicted the opposite outcome. I think for me taking the blade out is a carry over from what I do with my straight razors. With my straights I'm phobic about water post shave and I think that has carried over to DE shaving. The second reason is that my DE razors are expensive antiques and I wish to keep them pristine so I remove the blade and thoroughly dry my DE (I don't DE daily) and the blade and put the razor up with the wings open. I don't remove the blade to try and extend the blades life, I remove it for the maintenance of the razor.

This die idea is amazingly OCD. Brilliant, and I love it.

I saw nickshaves use a pickle jar full of alcohol that he dips a razor in after a shave to evaporate any left over water when leaving the blade in a razor. I think it's a good idea, but I don't mind taking the blade out, and really I don't even think about it when I do it.
