Blade Inventory

Probably enough for 12-15 years per my estimate or just too many ?

Thanks again muzichead for the heads up on the Silver star blades. I've only done one shave, but it was pretty good. It didn't wow me, but wasn't rough like the Shark was.

Today I put the Silver star on hold (I have a magnet on the inside of my medicine cabinet) and switched gears. I wanted to revisit the Astra that wowed me last time. I popped a new blade in and again, the same results... A stellar shave.

So much so, I went shopping again. This time, I managed to snag 300 older blades (with the printed label, rather than laser etching) for a similar price to the Amazon deal going on now. So, I'll have nearly as many Astra's (~600) as I have Personna Comfort Coated (~700). On top of my Nacets and various 100/ea blades.

Excessive? Yes. But I don't regret it. I only use a blade for 2-4 shaves. I'll definitely go through them.

I don't have an ample supple of blades around. I have 98 Astra Platinum Superiors, 60 or so Personna Blues for my Lupo DE Aluminum. I have two packs of Feather AC ProGuard blades (20 blades per pack).. I'm on the second blade from one of them. I don't really have a handle on how many shaves I'll get per blade. I ditched the first one after 7 shaves, but I probably could have used it for a few more. People say they get up to 12 shaves per blade.

I do have a pack of Feather ProSoft Guard blades coming.

This is about 80 year's worth of blades for me.

I'm around 8000 total, having stocked up enough to last the rest of my life.

I feel way under stocked! I probably have less than 300 DE blades in total. Maybe if I added in my AC blades and injector blades, I may have another 100 blades to bring the total up to 400.

Ohh this is a tough one lol I’m certainly under stocked but that’s due to fact I use vintage non existing blades so far I been scraping by but Tiger Platinum is Availabe at the worse….

I have less that 200 blades in total…for now…

Quickly scanning through this thread, it seems razors are a personal preference but many members mentions the Astra SP blade. I used this information to purchase my fist pack of razors to go with my first DE (Yates The Winning Razor). So now I have whopping 100 blades.

Looking forward to trying them both out in the coming days.

Here's my wish list to try and fulfill over the next couple of years...1000-2000 Kai, 1000 Gillette Winner Platinum black and 1000 Gillette China London Bridge. There are a lot of really good blades that I would be happy with. We seem to still have good options on the market.
