They're not flying as fast as they could.

I love my blackbird which I bought off BST for a lot less than a new one and I don't see why I should drop $99 on the dart which says - it's less aggressive and less efficient. This puts me off to spend money. I have the $55 game changer and it's worth the money and they are releasing a 0.90 base plate as well in the near future.

Maybe I'll consider it when someone drops it on BST (not too many hopefully like the sabre L1 )

This is a bit confusing as you seem to have some sales figures that only I have. As to them “not flying as fast as they could”, yesterday was one of the top two days in the history of Blackland and sales exceeded my projections significantly. Apparently you conflate having enough inventory to meet demand with not selling very many. I’ve stated many times that I hate selling out and avoid doing so at all costs.

If you have a Blackbird and love it, then that’s wonderful and of course you shouldn’t buy a Dart! Save your money. It’s not meant to replace the Blackbird; that would make absolutely no sense. And you’re correct, there are cheaper razors. There are also more expensive razors and they all sell well. If you can’t be convinced to buy one, then that’s completely okay, but please don’t walk into my business thread to trash my products. You’re more than welcome to do so on the razor’s thread. I always welcome informed dissenting opinions, but uninformed or intentionally misinformed posts will always be fought.

Thanks!

Shane, if any slandering has been sensed it's my duty to apologize. I understand your product and your sentiment around it.

I am not against the Dart or any Blackland razors - I am itching to buy a sabre L2 but sadly it's beyond my price point for the next few months.

I definitely love the look for the Dart. It's not frugal at all - however I do not like that the website states it's less aggressive. I am a bit touchy about it.

I wish you luck in your project and also hope for an inventory sell out soon.

Yes it's also a fact that all said and done - sooner later my RAD will make me succumb to the Dart. Phew that's how things go in the wet shaving world !

Edit : Today I had a shave with the Blackbird machined finish with a Gillette super platinum black on its day 4. It takes me less time to shave as such an efficient razor that the shave is over earlier than I would like. I reach for it more often than my timeless and ATT razors and it's smooth enough to be a daily shaver.

Shane Blackland Razors, Congratulations on such a successful release! I’m not planning on purchasing the Dart, as I’ve already found shaving bliss with the Blackbird. I am planning on purchasing a Polished Blackbird in the near future though, I’ve got to be able to switch it up with my SOTD pics! Thank You for making such an outstanding Razor, and here’s to Your continued success!

Hey Nathaniel. The Dart sits between the Sabre L2 and the Blackbird with regard to blade feel and aggressiveness. The Blackbird has more blade feel and is a bit more efficient. I think of the Dart as the Blackbird’s little brother in many ways. It’s performs fairly similarly, but toned down a bit. I hope that helps!
