I really appreciate that. This is the impact I was hoping for. I design razors as one piece and I want it to be a cohesive unit that flows seamlessly from one part to the next.

First look at the Complete razor + stand was simply jaw dropping for me. Handle although was introduced at a later stage than the head but complemented the head so very well.

Little short on funds but really look forward to have one at a later date.

Good work there!

Hello All

The post office collection slip for my Vector was pushed through my letterbox this morning. The taxes, duties and handling charge amounted to £51.91(ouch!).

In the flesh the Vector and the stand are even more beautiful than the photos promised. It really is exquisite. Normally, apart from holding the razor upright, I am not a fan of stands' aesthetics but this combination is visually marvellous. Anyone thinking of buying the Vector but are on the fence regarding the stand, my suggestion is not to stint and get it. The price is actually very reasonable as these things go and it perfectly and subtly complements the razor

Just to get a comparison for the shave I made a few strokes with my Occams OREN and a Feather Pro with 5 shaves already and then switched the blade to the Vector. My initial reaction was to much prefer the Occams but it is too early days yet for judgement calls. Is it just me or is the Occams a seriously underrated razor?

Two passes produced an excellent result as I look forward to many more shaves.

I am new to SE shaving and have rather over indulged my razor acquisition impulses and hope that this most splendid creation will satisfy and tame that particular OCD.

So, a big thumbs up and grateful hurrah to Blackland Razors and joyful shaves to all Vector users who are fortunate enough to discover and own this sublime implement.

I now have 4 complete shave in with the Vector 3 with a proline blade and 1 with a Kai Captain mild. Every shave has been a pleasant, highly maneuverable, 3 pass BBS. the only issue I have noticed, which was brought up by another member it the corner of the top cap is sharp and when I am trimming next to my lip or E to W under my nose I have caught some skin. There is no harm but it feels like I should need to grab the Styptic pencil, when I stop and look there is no nick or blood but you sure do feel it. With the last 2 shaves I just slowed down like I would with one of my aggressive razors in this area and no issues. I think it is user error because the razor just zips across my face everywhere else I get lulled into doing a careless pass. This is a very smooth, maneuverable and deceivingly efficient razor.

Very similar experience here, though I wish it were a tad more aggressive... I also felt those sharp corners and decided to touch up on them with my loyal Dremel, a soft felt wheel, and a bit of a polishing paste. It worked! Visually I can barely see any difference (even under magnification), but that "prickly" sensation is gone!

Something to think about here. I received this email from the Blackland subscribers newsletter that Shane sends out regularly. And quite frankly, very well said...

Blacklanders,

The Vector has garnered high praise, killer reviews, and tremendous sales. So you might be wondering why it hasn’t sold out.

The wet shaving market has become littered with products that are intentionally produced in small numbers in order to sell out in minutes or seconds. By choosing to never meet demand, they create a hype and frenzy to lure you into canceling your plans to sit at your laptop refreshing the website hoping you get the opportunity to hand over your hard-earned money. The community has become so acclimated to this process that it seems we’ve almost lost sight of how absurd it is. By this increasingly pervasive standard, a product isn’t considered a success unless it sells out immediately. I don’t call that success. I call that an abject failure to meet demand.

As a consumer, I’m not keen on waiting in line or jumping through hoops to make a purchase. I believe you shouldn’t have to beg and plead for a business to take your money. So I do my best to make Blackland the kind of company that I would actually purchase from. Sales of the Vector have outpaced every razor I’ve ever offered, including the Blackbird. Yet we still have hundreds in stock. Those will soon run out so we’re already planning on another production run. Blackland razors aren’t produced in small batches; they’re produced in large enough quantities to meet projected demand for at least six months, usually longer. It’s harder and more costly to do production like this, but I believe it’s the right way to run a business.

By this point you’re probably cracking your knuckles and opening a fresh email to remind me that my black oxide and polished razors sell out, making me a hypocrite. And you'd be right. This is a failure that I'm correcting. I’m continually improving those supply chains to solve that issue and batches of polished razors now last months rather than days as they used to. We’ll keep scaling up these high-demand finishes until they are available every day of the year, as they should be. There’s nothing wrong with the occasional limited edition product, like the Blackbird Jet, but our standard razors will always be available and accessible for the incredible fans like you who want them.

You can go purchase a Vector at the link below. Or you can sleep on it. It’ll still be there tomorrow, I promise.

Sincerely,

Shane Swartzlander

I just read that two seconds ago. Shane is such a stand up guy! I love his designs and business sense. I’m a huge fan of Blackland. I’m in the process of ditching some old razors for the Vector. I can’t wait to purchase the Vector and glad to see it’s still in stock.

Toss in a Super Pro to dial it up a couple notches.

Also, thanks for all the support with that email. It clearly struck a chord with a lot of people.
