No other than I would have wanted a polished version, but the Brushed finish let's me off the hook all the time.  Can't really be OC with a Brushed finish, but the polished is another matter.

My usual disclaimer, don't own shares, happily paid for my razor.

Thank you for your thoughts Smile. I agree entirely. The Sabre has accomplished what I wanted it to. It's smooth, intuitive, and incredibly easy to use well. But if some of my customers want a more aggressive version then who am I to say "no"? I really value customer feedback and take notes so that I can incorporate customer opinion into future improvements, products, additions, etc. I'm not promising a more aggressive Sabre, but I've started prototyping it and we'll see if it goes anywhere.

I'm happy to see you here to respond to customer feedback and provide your point of view. One of the reasons I continue to buy and support! I also wanted to thank you for all the excellent customer service you have provided to me in the past. You always responded to my e-mails, and provided me with what I believe to be the human connection of doing business. This has been lost on several razor manufacturers so this does set you apart, don't loose that.

Shane, thank you for considering a more aggressive version. I haven't tried the Sabre yet, but I have the Rocnel SE-G, which I enjoy a great deal. I chose the Rocnel over the Sabre as the anecdotal evidence suggested the Rocnel open comb was more aggressive. I use a half dozen OC or quasi-OC vintage Gem-blade razors, but don't use my SB vintage Gem-blade razors, due to their mildness. In any event, you've created a big hit, and I applaud you for it!

Thanks, Scott. The Blackbird is my highly efficient more aggressive razor so I wanted to compliment it with a razor that would appeal to a different wet shaver. If the more aggressive base plate becomes a reality I'll let you guys know!

I completely understand. I have a friend here in Seattle who's another "aggression freak," and his two favorites are the Blackbird and the El Jefe. I'll have to re-think the Blackbird, but I seriously don't know how I'll fit another razor into the drawer my wife has allotted me for shaving gear...

I don't mean to disrupt the discussion, here, but does anyone know how the Sabre compares to the GEM Micromatic OC razor in terms of aggression or efficiency?
For some reason, I tried the Micromatic for my head shaves and I am getting some fantastic results, so I am contemplating the Sabre.
Thanks.

"For some reason"? Given some of the clamoring for an aggressive plate I think it's reasonable to presume the Sabre is not as aggressive as the MMOC. I shave my head (for known reasons) with the MMOC as well

Both are on the two opposite sides of the poles when it comes to aggression celestino.

jmudrick & SharpSpine , thank you both gentlemen for the information. I guess I should wait to see if Shane releases a more aggressive base-plate. Shy

I'm a little confused by this. More than likely I'll be using my OneBlade for the next couple of shaves before giving the Sabre another go.

Try keeping the head against your skin and the handle out as much as possible. This should make a big difference and the shave should be a lot better. I am getting incredible shaves using this technique.

Yes Jerry, I read about your success with that. I think I was close to that technique on my first shave, but my last two have been at a steeper angle. I'll get back at it again soon. Thanks for the tips.

I was planning on using my OneBlade for a few days, but Jerry's post above really clicked with me that my angle was off. Today I kept the Sabre's head almost flat and was rewarded with my closest shave so far. Also, there was no irritation. However, I did give myself a couple nicks and weepers which I attribute to too much pressure.

Feeling much better now about how the Sabre will continue to perform for me. Thanks for the reminder Jerry!
