I'll bet some of you were at your computers at 2 minutes to launch time, refreshing every 30 seconds.

Not me.

I started refreshing at 5 minutes to launch, and did so every 5 seconds Smile

I just have to accept that I may be incurable.

Seriously, congrats, Shane, and I'm really looking forward to the Sabre!

Wow, Michael. My order was only 2 minutes ahead of yours and my order # is 675.

Holy cow, Brian! I was refreshing away, and wasn't able to get to the 'Add To Cart' until 12:02 Eastern. Cost myself a minute because I forgot to choose the 'machined' option.

26 razors in 2 minutes-impressive, and good for Shane! I thought these would go quickly because there are so many fans of the Blackbird (myself included) and this seemed like the best design yet for the GEM blade.

Congrats!

I'm really blown away by how quickly these sold out. I was expecting to sell out this weekend or maybe early this week, not ~6 hours.

Really looking forward to hearing what you all think of the Sabre later this week! Thank you for your business.

Honestly, I believe this razor is one of the more aesthetically pleasing to the eye designed Gem type S/S razors. Plus, simplicity is king in my book. A solid 3 pc. design, solid craftsmanship and an outright cool/classic design. Beats the other 2 offerings in looks and design in my book. Got meself a good shave in today. "No Mas" shaves until the Sabre is in my den. Looking forward to it.....

Can't wait to hear how it compares to a 1912.

To be vintage it must be older than me!
The last razor I bought was the next to last razor I will ever buy!

I don't think any of the new GEM style razors are going to change wet shaving at all. The old GEM style razors will shave just the same as the new ones (some more/less aggressive than others). People are just upgrading from a Model T GEM style razor to something more modern IMO.

I don't think anyone is suggesting that it will "change wet shaving". But I believe it sure will enhance the enjoyment of it for many.

And if it does that for enough people, then I guess, it may in fact change wet shaving as we know it. Though I do think that is a lofty goal and I haven't found anybody suggesting that.

Personally, this is a hobby I thoroughly enjoy. As such, the idea of having a new razor that uses a GEM blade, is very exciting. The idea of an SE blade that is not as wide as the AC blades are, in a new, modern razor, might be something incredible.

Sure, we can pick up an MMOC or 1912 GEM or Clog Pruf, but there is a lot to be said about a new, high-quality, stainless steel razor that is a new take on something old.

And that, would be right up my alley. And right up the alley of many that are in this forum.

You're not really wrong, but that exact logic applies to every single item in wet shaving. Soaps still work like soap, blades are still sharp, brushes still lather, aftershave still smells nice, straight razors haven't changed, etc. New options aren't here to make the old ones obsolete, but to add to the experience by introducing a new take on an old idea. Modern and vintage gear both bring something to the table and most dens have room for a bit of both.
