I used the dart for the first time tonight. Kudos to Shane for fast shipping and excellent packaging. I did not find the razor too aggressive I used the 30 degree angle it recommends and it had some blade feel but was very smooth. On one day beard growth ( I shave daily) I got a WTG, XTG BBS no irritation. I definitely want to use this razor for a few weeks and see what it does I think the reference to a Gillette Old Type was a good one, the head and base have a similar curve but the Dart is thicker on both. As a Reference the game changer was too mild for me and I like my Karve with an F plate.

It's sharp and it cuts. I like it...

4 shaves in with the Dart and this last one was perhaps the best of them all... Just an incredibly efficient razor with just enough smoothness to get the job done. I’m not saying that it’s a mindless or carefree shave, as you do have to use a bit of focus to get the results you need. But nothing like a Tech or R41 where lazer like precision and concentration provides exquisite results. Maybe not lazer like for the R41 but, you get what I’m saying. Just find the angle that works best for you, whether steep or shallow riding the cap or guard, once you get it, it’s Shaving nirvana..

Hey bud, how would you compare the Dart to the 17-4?

So I'm guessing that could be part of the culprit here. I also tend to use a steep angle on the Dart and that could be why I don't find it aggressive. I recommend giving that angle a try if you're finding the Dart overly aggressive. Again, steep angle means handle more perpendicular to the floor when shaving your cheek.
Great tip!

I think most usage of “aggressive” in this thread has been intended as a positive quality, though. I’m still shaving left-handed, but find the aggression level (or, more importantly, the efficiency) to be “just right”.

Today was my 5th shave with the DART. I have been enjoying the razor in general, except maybe the shave on Sunday. I have been using what I would call a 'natural' angle so far. Today I used a steeper angle; handle more parallel to face.

And I must say, I got my best shave with the DART today. No tugging, no pulling, no resistance. And to top it off, no alum burn after a 3 pass shave.

Who knew Blackland Razors advice on trying a steep angle would work!!

I have been experimenting with the Dart for the past seven days, along with my Blackbirds and DLC razors, for each shave and while the Dart is very effective and an overall great shaver, I am not finding the shaves as comfortable as I would have liked, unfortunately. The blade feel can be pronounced depending on the angle and, for whatever reason, I am finding that the end result can be mildly uncomfortable, especially, compared to my Blackbirds, which are my primary shavers.

I think I’m already using the steeper angle instinctively due to the awkwardness of using the wrong hand.

This is my only Blackland Razor so I have no way to compare but I have NOT had a smooth comfortable shave with the my Dart as of yet.  That being said, when I finished my normal 2 pass with touchup my face was an outstanding BBS!  I tried going steeper and it still felt like me scraping an old rusty potato peeler across my face and I have NEVER thought my face as overly sensitive.  First blade I tried was a new feather, then Astra and finally GSB ... I am sure its my technique is the issue.  As a point of reference I get great shaves from every razor I own including, Gillette SS and adjustables, Schick razors, and many modern such as Weber, Rex, Wolfman, ATT, GC and Karve with the exception of that darn Mamba.  I will have to tweak my technique over the next few shaves.

Anyone care to compare it with the Charcoal #2?
