Will it be polished and be offered in an antique finish? Will the price be the same or more? Will the new metals also have the matching stand option?

All in good time! Just one new material coming up for now.

The finish increases durability and, clearly, sex appeal. We have a limited number of Blackbirds in this finish in stock. Pricing and a release date will be announced soon.

Good show!  That new Jet finish looks great, Shane Blackland Razors!

Any improvement in performance with the new finish? Less drag, maybe?

That’ll be tough since they won’t be manufactured for a couple months.

I’m gonna order a new Blackbird SB, in a polished finish soon.

Already have several stellar DE’s in regular use, but it sounds like a BB should be among them...

What are the finer points I should know about this razor?

Comparisons to other razors now available?

Also, I generally prefer milder, though “efficient” razors.

Thanks

Missed that! It shaves basically the same as the polished razors. There may technically be less drag, but my face can’t tell.

No problem. I know that some customers will buy it, analyze the performance scientifically, and find differences. They will probably be completely correct. However, the goal of this finish is, frankly, to look incredibly cool. If there’s a slight performance benefit then that’s great, but it would be disingenuous to advertise that you need this because it will shave better. This one is all about aesthetics.
