I am more of a wait and watch guy. Like to read about the razor, see folks comparing it to other razors and then pull the trigger.

Also, this model of a larger drop keeps the cost manageable at manufacturer's end and we don't have to pay huge mark-up like many of us have to do on those limited run razors.

That’s the idea! I want Blackland to be the kind of place I would buy from and I personally won’t jump through hoops to buy something. If it’s hard for me to give you my money then I’ll take it elsewhere. So as we currently sit, Blackland needs plenty of work to get it to where I would be an eager customer, but it’s accelerating in the right direction.

I’m just fortunate and grateful to have a lot of incredible fans who will put up with the bs of a bootstrapped little business. So thank you all for hanging in!

Well I wanted to do a Shave Off using the SS vs the Titanium but when I went to look for the SS I remembered I already sent it back so that’s not going to happen darn it. Well I didn’t want to waist the 4 days growth so I was going to grab my WR1 .94 DC but when I opened my box were some of my razors I keep the razor that popped into my head that might be a good match up is the Paradigm Titanium 1 which is the first razor Andrew made if my memory serves me right. It was called way to aggressive back then and he quickly stopped making them after I believe 50 or 51 razors. What a shame!  Anyway I thought it’s a matte finished Ti razor and in a Shave Off vs the WR1.94 DC it lost by a fraction so I thought let me compare this to the Ti Blackbird first. Well I’m glad I pulled it as this was one of those shaves that at this point I’d have to call a draw in efficiency with both giving me a solid Level 2 BBS on 2 passes with a touch of buffing on my chin. I went both WTG and ATG with some pretty aggressive skin stretching.  So until I’m into this shave for 12 hrs or so it’s hard to say which one gave me the longest lasting shave.

Differences between the two. Ok I’ll start with balance. Both are balanced next to perfection in my opinion. Maneuverability I’d have to give a slight but noticeable edge to the Blackbird having the shorter handle and being a tad lighter in weight. Blade feel aka face feel aka smoothness I’d give a very slight edge to the Paradigm Ti 1 but once again I’m splitting hairs here. Oh and I loaded in two brand new Polsilver blades in case anyone is interested. I’d have to say these two razors are so close in their shaving characteristics I was very surprised but in a good way.

Here’s the big difference. Ones very hard to find and if you do expect to pay a premium for it and of course that’s the Paradigm Ti 1 while as Shane has mentioned that is not his objective in making razors difficult to obtain and once again I will most definitely be in line to get the high polished version when it’s released in the future but I could easily live with the brushed finish if it was the only Ti offered.

I’ll do one more with either the 1.35 side of my WR2 Ti DC or the 1.45 side of my other WR2 Ti.. not sure yet which way to go.

I’d like to thank Jags my friend for letting me try this awesome razor.  Another excellent shave today!

Great shaves all

for me the Paradigm Ti1 wins but that is probably due to having been used a lot compared to the Blackbird Ti. More blade feel for me on the blackbird but it's among the best razors I have used!

I intended to wait for the polished Ti bird and as the saying goes, "All things come to he who waits ... unless he waits too long"  Rolleyes

So I finally lost patience and went to the website only to see the machine finish sold out.

A forum member sold one to me earlier this week and I received it today.  I found the machine finish to my liking as it is.

Once in hand the razor is so light I wasn't sure if I would like the shave.

Loaded a Gillette Blue on its 2nd go round and got an absolutely spectacular 2 pass BBS shave.

Love my steel Blackbirds and very happy to add this Ti to the herd. Of all the many razors I've shaved with the Blackbird is unsurpassed for my personal face/neck.

Was the titanium already released recently? I didn't see any notice anywhere, other than it was coming up soon.

How would you characterise the differences between the SS and Ti Blackbirds....I've read reviews which
say they are like two totally different razors.

The Ti has a 'softer' face feel, which in turn, can result in less irritation compared to the SS and Brass version. Although, I find the brass 'softer' on my face than the SS, the Ti is that much 'softer'.
It is difficult to convey this to others unless you actually try one, for yourself, unfortunately.
The Ti has the exact shave characteristics as the standard Blackbird, but just 'softer', so if you enjoy the standard BB, than I am certain you would reallly like the Ti, unless you don't like light razors.

Will the polished Ti be a part of the next release?
