Another option that I have used more than once: I put a BB SS OC base plate in my BB Ti razor for the first set of passes (Due to my old/tough beard), then switch to the Ti SB base plate for the second and final passes.
Makes for a great shave!

As the razor is showing as sold out, I just wanted to know how many BB Ti
razors would be offered (estimate) when it next came on sale. 50-100, 100-200?
But if that is privileged information I totally understand.

Unless there is a problem it won’t sell out so the quantity doesn’t matter. And if there is a manufacturing problem then the quantity still doesn’t matter because the problem isn’t predictable. I think everything I’ve described above explains this quite well. Also, 12-18 months of demand is obviously more than all the numbers you’ve laid out.

I am curious though, why do you want to know the exact number? How does that make a difference to the customer when the website won’t tell you how many are left anyway?

I was thinking exactly the same thing.  Why?
Shane, I very much appreciate that you’re not playing games with the “unobtainium, drop model”.  I just refuse to play those games to purchase yet another razor, brush or soap.  Thank You.
I think we all need to remember that this miserable Covid is affecting everything, raw materials, production, shipments and maybe most importantly...our perception/attitude.

I've been using one shim in mine. Seems to be working very well. It surely would be nice to have an OC Ti plate. Smile

It seems to me you're reading a little too much into my simple question,
which is simply a reflection of how some of us customers think.
Your site shows it as sold out.
I was kinda toying with the idea of should I, shouldn't I...so I was just wondering... how
many would be available at the next release?
If it was 30 I figure I would probably need to hustle. If it was 250, I could take my time
getting around to it.

Anyway I don't need to know anything any more. Cheers!

The reality is that your question is less simple than you realize and to adequately answer it requires the long explanation I’ve provided. I suspect you’re used to how other small makers work. They order 100 and have those until they run out and then make another 100. That’s not how I work. It’s rolling production as part of a yearlong plan. So if I tell you I have 50 in hand that doesn’t really provide a correct answer because there are hundreds more completed at my manufacturer and hundreds more in various stages of production.

That last bit I can answer succinctly. You can take your time getting to it. Smile

I think you have a great point. We see that in the stores all the time now. For days, no product, then suddenly a bunch of it. But something else is now down.  I work in a grocery store, in the pharmacy, and we see that constantly in the over the counter aisles.  And the consumer doesn't want to hear about staggered shifts at production when they have got to have Flintstone vitagummies NOW!!!  I imagine these things affect us all. Patience.  Remember mailing in for something? "Please allow 4-6 weeks" holy smokes, that is a lifetime now, when I can click Buy It Now and it ships the next day, 2-3 days max!!

I guess I'm going to sip the kool aid when the Ti becomes available again. I had my black oxide OC in the BST with long and short handle but no takers (I'm not 'giving' it away)  Smile

Been rotating through various Wolfman razors for awhile now. My Blackbird SS polished wasn't getting any love so I loaded a polisilver and got such a great shave. 

Closed the BST for the black oxide OC and shaved with it a couple of days later with the same polisilver blade. Now it ain't going anywhere either !

So I anticipate a polished Ti when they become available ... and I have the disposable income.  Rolleyes

I find Blackland's model more user friendly. Limited runs are not my Cup of tea because of being in a different time zone I generally miss the bus.

I am more of a wait and watch guy. Like to read about the razor, see folks comparing it to other razors and then pull the trigger.

Also, this model of a larger drop keeps the cost manageable at manufacturer's end and we don't have to pay huge mark-up like many of us have to do on those limited run razors.
