Also I forgot to mention. This razor for me is what I call a zero pressure razor meaning once you find the sweet spot just guide the razor around your mapped out beard growth and let the razor do all the work. No need for applying pressure.

Does anyone know roughly how many Ti Backbirds Shane releases per batch?

I had finally put this out of my mind, but I guess now I really do have to try one.

I have read he usually makes enough to be in stock for one year, if that helps.

Always thought you was a little strange for not being able to work a Blackbird, Frank. As much as you like razors, one of the best escaped you for quite a spell. Glad the Ti did the trick.

Come on!  I could be wrong, since I’m not privy to the Blackbird schematics and production...but I simply and respectfully doubt that Shane changed any codes within the CAD program of the brass, stainless, oxide, or Titanium versions.
I might accept that there’s a minimal difference between polished and machined and oxide.  Yes, there is certainly a significant difference in weight and some guys like heavy and some like aluminum, I get that.

I own a brass version and love it.  Are you telling me that I’d notice a distinct difference between the same razor in Ti?

Such enabling and tantalizing review from Frank!  I had already made up my mind to grab a Ti Bird but his review added more excitement to what is about to come.

Ti Bird is supposed to be available again late February / early March though in a recent thread a couple of days ago Shane indicated "a few more weeks" as a timeline for availability of new razors.  I'm not sure about the timeline for Ti Birds.  I'm hoping Shane will clarify.

James going back to before the Shave Offs and then through them and up till this Ti It’s not that I wasn’t able to get a close shave it was just there was something about the whole experience that I wasn’t feeling up till now. I had the same experience with the Gamechanger 84 and the original Lupo. Just wasn’t feeling them. So yeah like I mentioned I’ve always wanted to support the brand and now I’ll get in line for the shinny version.

Like I mentioned I’ve shaved with 4 different Blackbirds and it’s not that I couldn’t get a very close shave and all that it was lacking something for me as far as the total package. I usually refer to it as mojo. Either a razor has it or not and of course I’ll say this is just me and there have been other razors like I mentioned such as the Gamechanger and Original Lupo for example that gets a lot of love as does the SS Blacklbird that I tried but just didn’t connect to. This Ti version checked all the boxes for me that I mentioned in the OP especially “ in hand feel “ maneuverability, balance and smoothness. An I happened to have a SS Blackbird that a friend sent me with a couple of other razors he wanted me to try so I’ll wait for the beard to grow out to the same 4 days growth and do a side by side Shave Off to see if my feelings are still the same.

BTW the Copper is a real beauty!

I believe you Frank.  There’s certainly a whole lot of variables.  Some variables change daily.  Beard, blade, even attitude.
Hell, if I don’t like the aesthetics and style of a razor, I’m certainly going to be influenced by that.
A while ago, I shaved with the same razor, brush and soap for 2 weeks.  While I missed the variety, I really got comfortable with the equipment.  After a few days I was getting amazing shaves over and over...
At some point, I wonder if we’re all chasing something that is already sitting in our shave den...
In the end, if it works for you and the shave makes you happy...excellent!
Pete
