I thought it would be nice to have a thread devoted to birth razors. If you have a good story associated with your razor, please share. Unfortunately, I don’t have a great story for mine…I simply found it on eBay. It's a Gillette Black Beauty U4...not only my birth year but birth quarter as well. But for this thread, I did try something special by making my first attempt at an outdoor razor picture.

Normally, it sits on a chrome stand on my vanity, not being used very often. So far, I’ve only used this beauty on my birthday and my wife’s birthday. And I plan to only use it for special occasions and holidays. Otherwise, it is on the stand watching over all the other razors that pass by Smile

I'm too old to have a birth razor. [Image: cry.gif]

I have a W1 76 black handle super speed,  same story as yours ( ebay ). I've thought about getting a super adjustable,  but I am  primarily a SE shaver.[Image: jlyIIYf.jpg]

Thanksgiving Day Shave:

Being a holiday, I thought it was appropriate to use the Birth Razor Smile

Pre-shave: Hot shower
Brush: Shave Revolution Synthetic
Blade: Pol-Silver SI (8th use)
Soap: CrowneAndCrane Cognac & Cubans (I don't have any Holiday-like scents. But my dad & I usually have a cigar after dinner, so this was more than appropriate)
AS: CrowneAndCrane Tobacco Leaf & Amber balm (see soap comments Smile)

Razor: Gillette Black Beauty U4

I think the idea of a birth razor is cool. I'm having trouble finding a reasonably priced, good condition Gillette F1 Fatboy. For whatever reason there's not as many of them around as some of the other years/quarters. So I'm thinking as good as a birth year/quarter would be a conception year razor, that puts me in the E2s which seem more plentiful at the moment. Big Grin

That's good, except that it might bring to mind your conception... Confused Sick

I just looked at my Fat Boy, Mark, and I'm afraid it's off by one.  Mine is an F2.  Oh well.

Thanks Freddy , I think wyze0ne raises a good point. I'll just slowly back away from any talk of conception.

I have a pretty minty P4 Super Speed that is my birth quarter. I use it on my birthday, and that is about it. I don't DE shave very often, and I prefer my Schick Krona by far if I want a TTO shave.

I have a P2 Super Adjustable that when I bought it, I figured it for a restore. Not horrible shape, not exactly a collector. Before I ever got around to it I came to the conclusion that I just don't care enough for TTO shaves to put any more money into it. My son has it right now.
