Redhead here with course hair and sensitive skin. Still hunting for the best choice for me. Thanks.

I don't have a 6C so I can't really comment on it. But I did have a Mamba and a Game Changer and sold both because I found them to be too mild and requiring more clean-up passes. For me, the 6S is absolutely the smoothest and most efficient razor. The 6S (base plate 4) with a Kai, GSB, Israeli Red, or Feather blade results in a 3-pass shave which rarely requires a clean-up pass. It is more expensive than the Mamba but you might be able to find on the BST for less.

Before I bought the 6c I read quite a bit of posts... It seems to be the same as the 6s, just with less weight (steel is heavier, lol). So it should be close, albeit a heavier blade cuts more efficiently.
I think i need to work on my technique and find the right plate, cream, and blade. I'm naturally an impatient guy... But Rome wasn't shaven in a day.

I use our stainless handle with chrome plated heads. It adds some of that needed weight.

Shave Sharp, Look Sharp
First Canadian Shave Soap I feel should be added to this list. Their performance is phenomenal and scents are very comfortable. The previous formula was a cream, may have left people uneasy about making new purchases. The new formula has been hardened to a croap and uses different tallows. I personally haven’t tried the previous formula but I have have tried 3 scents so far including Dickens, Barbershop & Blod Av Dreki. All were so awesome and low priced compared to other competitors.

For artisan soaps Id say Stirling and Mystic Waters for the shave quality and the price per ounce.
Mass market Proraso/La Toja are like 2 bucks an ounce or maybe cheaper and give great shaves? DR Harris is 17 a puck but a puck lasts FOREVER and I feel like thats a good value.
I like Astra blades as a good wet shaving value and they are probably my favorite blade as well, coming in depending around 8 - 10 bucks for 100 blades.

I actually took out my tub of Arko after reading this thread last night. Not as good as some of the newer soaps out now obviously, but for the price it is pretty damn solid. I do always have to use some sort of post shave product with it also, but it is a pretty solid performer and DIRT cheap for those on a budget.
