Vintage Gillette Tech razors are, in my opinion, one of the best values around. You can get a post-war fat handle Tech for < $15 and it shaves like a dream.

The GEM PTFE blade. I just bought a bunch from Connaught at less than $0.08 USD per blade delivered. That is between one and two cents per shave, and what sweet blades they are! They work great in both vintage and modern razors.

I would add the pre -War Tech. I just love how smooth it feels. And its efficiency is great when you find the right angle. And regardless of the angle, it is not prone to bite if the driver is not fully awake!!

Pretty much any straight razor, touch up hone, and strop, you can shave with them for the rest of your life at no further cost other than soap and maybe a brush once a decade.

Agree on Stirling, PdP, and maybe surprising to some (but not others) Castle Forbes cream, you can shave with it for a year at about 7-8 cents per shave if you're careful doling it out. I'd also add the vintage AoS tallow soaps, the quality is as good as it gets in a soap.

Would the fact the 6S is stainless steel play any part in your decision?

I am no expert, by any means... And I currently only own the 6c. What I have read, and other forums, is the 6s is heavier and hence gives a better shave? I don't know. I do read a lot about heavier razors... People singing their praises.

Just got a Razorock old type open comb. Only used once, but wanted to try an OC to see if it did better on my very course hair. The jury is still out.

I may also look into the Fatip Piccolo... Seen a lot of posts about that. Didn't realize it was such a value priced razor, though. Hmm.

Well, I'd have to say I've become accustomed to heavier razors. Namely, the Rex.

Grooming Dept soaps are priced at least 50% too low in my opinion. Also think Pitralon is an absolute steal

Voskhod blades (100 for like 9 bucks) and proraso in italy (1.25ish for a tub i paid)

Maca Root and The Real Shaving Co. Shave Cream Top my soap list. Then MEM and Nivea.
Schick Band and Eclipse Red Ring and in close second place are Rolls and any GEM.
Brushes are RazoRock Monster for luxury. Yaqi 26 for backbone. L&L custom - so good for arthritic hands.

Stubble Buster Set you cant beat for the price, Gillette slim, 9 different gaps of blade for you to tinker with. Best bang for your buck IMO
