Hello. I use a Wilkinson Sword Classic(the black version). I use it with the Gillette Platinum: https://www.barbierit.ro/produs/lame-gil...achete/261 and the Gillette Stainless: https://www.barbierit.ro/produs/lame-gil...achete/262.
I get irritation on the neck and below the jaw when going against the grain on the third pass.
I tried Astra Superior Platinum blades and got even worse irritation.
What sample pack would be best for me?

What are you using for a shave soap and what is your prep routine like?

I wash my face with a liquid face wash and use Palmolive or Nivea cream. I lather with a Maggard 22 mm synthetic shaving brush.

Seems like your prep is fine.

Maybe try switching to a tallow based soap? They seem to do a better job of softening my beard which allows me to use less pressure, and makes ATG passes less tuggy.

I am a head shaver, not a neck shaver, but always end ATG.

I have found certain razors are just untenable for my ATG pass and it mostly has to do with shave angle and blade exposure.

I have no idea what the W.S. Classic razor is like, but maybe it is just not right for an ATG pass?

Maybe try a good Wilkinson Sword blade in it first. They are really quite good. Then try a few different razors?

I have sensitive skin. I always finish my shave using buffing strokes with a super sharp blade. I rarely get irritation. The secret is using the right razor, the right lather and the right technique.

Since you referenced a shaving site in Romania, I do not know which shave products might be available to you. I know Slickboys in the UK carries a good number of artisan soaps.

You did not mention the razor you are using. You want a mild razor for ATG passes if you have sensitive skin. I have a tough, fast-growing beard. I typically use a more aggressive razor for my first pass WTG. Then I switch to a moderately aggressive razor for the XTG pass. Then I finish up with a mild razor ATG. I love Karve Christopher Bradley razors because they are available with a variety of baseplates. I have plates 3, 4, and 5 with 5 being the more aggressive.

OP mentioned the razor is a Wilkinson Sword Classic. I have never used one, but it is reported as a good, inexpensive, mild shaver. My guess is that it is not very efficient and that is hurting the ATG pass.

Sorry, when the OP mentioned the Wilkinson Sword Classic, I thought he was referring to the WS Classic razor blade, not the razor. The razor is a mild TTO similar to the Gillette Superspeed. I have the similar Van der Hagen razor made by Weishi. He might need a more efficient razor for the WTG pass.

YEP!
If your quick someone just posted a Rockwell for a great price. Its a great razor for a beginner. Lots of options on one razor.

Then try a Nacet blade starting at the lower setting and work your way up. 6 different razors in one! And as said above, a quality soap makes a big difference. I enjoy the triple milled soaps of France. They last a long long time. But others like the Crop type artisan soaps. Both types are great.
