The scent to me smells great however, when I finished my shave and applied the aftershave I immediately got a burning sensation. This wasn't the typical aftershave sting just multiplied it seemed to be a different kind of burn, like my face felt hot for a good 4-5 minutes after that it stopped and all was well. Is this normal for Bay Rums? I watched a video of Nick Shaves using this same aftershave and he seemed to have a similar reaction but not sure if it was just a magnified aftershave burn for him or more what I experienced. Any feedback would be appreciated!
Hey Zachary,
Could be the alcohol content too. Try diluting it a tad with some distilled water. This is a trick I use with Aftershaves that kinda burn. I would just add a tsp of water , give it a shake and try it again. Keep adding more water if you notice it's working, but no more than 5 tsp all together.
Or it could very well be the essential oils, they are on the spicier side and reacting to Bay Rum is not so strange. That is also the reason I and a few other soapmakers have warnings on the sales pages for Bay Rum items.
Give the distilled water experiment a go if you are up to it and have not sold your bottle! Sorry I saw this post so late.
Cheers!
