I haven't smelled it so I can't comment on it but I love their splashes and balms.

I just ordered the Isla Muerta aftershave. I have been exploring a few of the HAGS offerings and their splashes provide a comforting post shave with pleasing scent strength, at least to my nose. I was bit on the fence with some of the scent components of Isla Muerta so just focused on the aftershave for now. The companion soap is in the vegan base, Osiris, so that might be something to consider, depending on your preferences. I have tried the Osiris base in another offering, and it performs fairly well. But I still have a preference for the more traditional Hathor base.

In the meantime, research continues on additional bay rum splashes that can pair with my Ethos bay rum soaps. And just ordered the Ethos Tortola EDT as well.
While of modest size, particularly compared to many listed here, my bay rum collection is beginning to grow Smile

A question for you all if you will indulge me. I am plowing through my Cubman and Cella aftershave products which I thoroughly enjoy. I have enough for this and next summer, this fall, and next spring. Obviously that leaves a hole for this coming winter. I have maybe 3 oz. of bootleg VIBR/Brandy Spice mix but I use that as a body splash after bath/shower as well as an aftershave so that will probably be close to gone by winter. So thinking ahead (these things require serious and thoughtful consideration) the question becomes what to get for this coming winter?

I could just get another giant bottle of VIBR for next to nothing and be done with it. But honestly? I love VIBR around Thanksgiving and Christmas because of the cloves, but other than that it is a little much. It seems to me that a true bay rum would be a perfect match for my favorite winter soap, Cella. But which one? Domenica would have been perfect but as I understand, it is no longer available. I am leaning towards a lime bay rum as that would seem to be more versatile, and am I correct in that Grand Bay is the successor (in some form?) to Domenica but still is not the same? St. John's is not lime and is pricier but man, that bottle would sure look good on the bathroom counter.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Tedolph i don’t know anything about Grand Bay but I can recommend St John. It’s a nice refined bay rum that is recognizably and uniquely St John while still being a classic bay rum. If you like applying the bay rum liberally on your body you might want to consider Ogallala Bay Rum and even their double strength cologne which is really not a cologne but just a slightly stronger bay rum. It smells great and is reasonably priced.  It comes in an 8oz bottle too so lots of it to splash around. I also recommend the Fine bay rum which has menthol in it which to my surprise works well.  If you like a bit of sweetness then you might like Barberry Coast bay rum. It’s pretty nice.

A couple of years ago, I wanted to try Dominica. But, found out that it went out of business because a hurricane destroyed the business. After searching some more, I found out that Grand Bay is Dominica resurrected. So, I bought a bottle. I really like it, because to me it smells like a true bay rum.

Wow, thanks for all the help everyone. I am leaning to the Grand Bay. Can't find the ingredient list. Can anyone confirm that it does not contain glycerine? I can't stand my face being sticky.

I have had the Grand Bay. I would not call it the "successor" to Dominica, but rather the watered down version. It resembles the Dominica, but truly only lasts for about an hour.
You actually might consider making your own. Pimenta Racemosa leaves are available for purchase and there are some really interesting recipes out there.
St Johns is closer to Dominica.
Vintage Royall Bay Rhum is great---if you get the one made in Bermuda.
