I, for one, like the idea of have the soap offered with two possible post-shave scent possibilities. Seems to me to be a selling point of offering two alternative options. As for cooling, I do use the WS23 Icy Stare (unscented) cooling aftershave from Summer Break soaps with various aftershaves to give a cooling feeling but I don't think I've ever thought of doing so with bay rum. Not sure if that's because I feel an incongruity, as Marko suggests, or some other reason. But I'll do a bay rum run tomorrow and see how it goes.

Also has anyone used a Bay Rum that has cooling ingredients in it? I was thinking of that as I was smelling one of the infusions as I could see that as an option in the future.
Ive never seen a mentholated bay rum - lime is as "cooling" as its got for me. It might be weird because the bay rum spices are often warming. Unpleasantly so to some guys so to throw in some cooling might be like matter and anti-matter combining...boom!

Your killing me Dave! A point well taken so heres the deal....you get to try the combo as soon as it's ready I'll make a aftershave/Skin Food Splash and add some cooling agents Sample and ship it to and lets see if they work against each other...or maybe it's one of those opposites attract things LMAO!

Yes Les please do it and I'll take an Ice Dragon home and try some with my Derby small batch or my PAA Atomic Bay Rum and we will compare notes.

Will do. (Although, just by way of noting this, your two mentions, the PAA and Derby, are not in my "bay rum" faves category)

I would be happy with one soap and the two splashes. I figure a base soap would compliment the aftershave even with the tropical twist. I also don’t feel that I would like a menthol addition to my bay rum. Just seems too far of a reach for what it historically is. Just my .02 and you can have it for free. ?

Well, I did try the cooling agent with a Bay Rum shave. Used my usual mix of bay rums (as I've previously described in this thread, a combination of my three "faves", andrewjs18for a combined scent/longetivity), but this time added Icy Stare. Did not work for me. I think Bay Rum is a "warm" scent and the incongruity of the chill was too much. So, my vote, Dragonsbeard, is a decided "no" on having a mentholated bay rum aftershave.
