So I posted this in my section and then afterwards I’m thinking why not post it in the Bay Rum specific thread.

Ok got a question. So aside from being in moving Hell right now. ( moving to a new location ) I was looking at my Bay Rum Infusions and they both seem to be abouty ready to go once I start back up in the new location As I’ve mentioned their are two different Bay Rum Infusions. One is the more Traditional ( my version) and the other is what a call a Tropical Bay Rum. With that said there is no doubt that your smelling a Bay Rum with either version so here is my question.

So do you think I can make only 1 Bay Rum Shave soap which would be the Traditional and then have the two different Bay Rum Aroma blends in Aftershaves/ Skin Food Splashes? So basically you’d be using one Shave soap and then choosing which scent you’d rather use that day. So do you think it’s a must that I make two separate shave soaps?

Just curious to hear peoples thoughts on this one.

Thank you!

how different are the scents? what happens if someone likes one, but not the other and you only made the soap in 1 of the 2 scents?

They are different in that one has a Tropical vibe to it but it’s definitely Bay Rum dominant and the other is just Bay Rum in the more traditional sense.  Good points Andrew.

Two of both soap and post shave products. The more the merrier. Three of both when you make a third bay rum and you will make a third bay rum. There is something about bay rum that not only gets onto your skin, it gets under your skin. This is getting exciting.

I'd probably run both...do smaller batches of both to see how well they sell, then scale them up, if need be.

I would purchase both Soaps and Splashes personally.

Thanks guys for the input. I can do small batches of both I and see how they compare sales wise as suggested.

Also has anyone used a Bay Rum that has cooling ingredients in it? I was thinking of that as I was smelling one of the infusions as I could see that as an option in the future.

Ive never seen a mentholated bay rum - lime is as "cooling" as its got for me.  It might be weird because the bay rum spices are often warming.  Unpleasantly so to some guys so to throw in some cooling might be like matter and anti-matter combining...boom!
