Great news indeed!

Another heads up: IB is about to drop a big order from Grooming Department, which will include the fantastic Mandarin Bay! It's a smooth, milder take on the bay theme that reminds me a lot of Mandarin Orange Spice by Celestial Seasonings (herbal tea).

I think it’s barnegat bay. It’s CB’s bay scent. Its also a place in New Jersey. It’s nice if you like a bay scent without spices or rum.

I just shaved with Barnegat Bay this week! One of the original offerings by Catie's Bubbles. It's a very nice bay rum with a brighter citrus thing happening. It's made with clove bud oil, not clove leaf oil like many bay rums. I would definitely recommend it.

thanks gents. once I offload some stuff, I think I'll pick up at least a bottle of the aftershave.

After spending considerable time on the fence, I decided to jump in and buy Noble Otter Plunder. I was unsure after reading the scent notes indicating that it was light on bay rum and heavy on cannon smoke. The irrational bay rum hound in me won out and I ordered both soap and aftershave from Top of the Chain. I bought the aftershave mostly to better judge the scent which doesn’t always come through accurately in the soap. Well it arrived today and I think it was the right decision. The soap is pretty mildly scented with smoke being the top note. The aftershave shows the complexity much better. I like it. The smoke is subtle enough so it doesn’t overwhelm. Another bay rum to add to the collection Happy2

I shaved with Noble Otter Plunder this morning and it was very nice. Noble Otter's soap base is excellent in my opinion and the scent, while mild, was indeed pleasant. The aftershave is very good as well and a little stronger on the scent. The smoke is the primary scent but its subtle and well executed. Its a very nice soap/aftershave set and it has a place in my rotation. I did splash on a wee dram of GFT Bay Rum cologne for good measure. Wink

I shaved with Van Yulay Bay of Roses this morning and it was a really nice shave, a nice rose scented bay.  I have Van Yulay's Bay Rum as well which I will dig out so I can put both of these soaps into the rotation for a while.  I have no idea why we never hear Van Yulay talked about any more, their website is still up and running and seems to be well stocked.  They do more skin care products than shaving soap but they certainly have a large selection of shaving soap.  My tubs are a few years old and I have no idea if they're the current soap base but it performs really well and it smells great, baaay.   Yes  do enjoy some bay in the morning....or bay rum for that matter  Big Grin

I used the venerable Krampert's Acadian Spice Bay Rum soap and aftershave today. What can I say  Happy2
