I'm pretty sure Rod threw a sample of that in with my last order a few months back and it was quite nice...I'm not sure if it's mean for men or women, but I like the smell of it a lot either way.  lol

A while ago, I ordered some of those “gender-specific” shaving soap samples from Stirling Soap Company, in the hopes that my wife would get into a more traditional form of hair removal. Well, it seems as if that’s not going to happen. And I can tell you, I will have no trouble using those samples myself — they smell glorious.

I did, and although I haven’t lathered it yet, the scent just off the sample is really nice. A very classy scent, like something you’d expect to find at a fine cosmetic store or the likes.

Well here's a question then. Is there a preferred weight and/or shape?

I would say I like a 200-250gram in rectangle bar or oval since my hands are large and fingers are long.

I've just cracked open a Stirling Autumn Glory - all of the Stirling bar soaps are excellent, this one's has a milder scent than most Stirling I've tried but quite nice.

I've got some favourites that I keep around like Speick, Swedish Dream, Lightfoot's Pine Athletic Soap and I really like bar soaps from Mystic Waters, Chisselled Face, Stirling and a few others.

Stirling are definitely my go-to bath soaps.  While I like some scents better than others there isn’t a single one that I flat out haven’t liked.  Also, I like the feel on my skin and the fact that it washes off so cleanly.   I’m almost done with a cake of it and am thinking maybe Executive Man next. .

I also agree that the idea of gender specific scents is mostly a marketing tool.

I can almost agree with this statement. I tried one not too long ago which I believe was called Sea Kelp. I really didn't care for the scent...it really smelled like sea kelp. But it's soap and the scents usually don't linger too long so I went ahead and used it. Honestly, by the time the bar was nearly gone, I had grown to like the scent

I prefer 4-5oz bath soaps and I like a little concave bottom so it sort of hugs my arm easily.

I had an 8oz soap from I believe whole foods a while ago and it was just flat out ridiculous to use..I used it up, of course, but I won't use an 8oz soap again...I'd have to cut it in half.
