I was just wondering if anyone else is experiencing a similar occurrence, and if Will has an explanation for this. I'm definitely not overloading my brush as after three passes, I am not left with an excess of lather. I have used around a dozen different scents of B&M soap over the past two to three years, and have never used so much soap in such short a time. Here's a couple of pics showing remaining soap after just four shaves. In the first pic, you can start to see daylight through the base in one spot. I have a reserve container, just received. Perhaps I need to order another one, or two, at this rate! Big Grin

Need to see a side profile pic? You should also weight it if you have a scale. New with the lid it should have weighed between 190 to 196g.

I don't have any scales, unfortunately, but I received Cologne Russe at the same time and both were at similar levels in the container from new. I'm positive there was no deficiency there. Arctique is a softer soap than other B&M soaps I have owned (or at least mine is), but that normally means loading time should be less. It isn't. In order to get adequate soap on my brush, loading time is nearly that of the other B&M soap which means I'm using up the soap considerably faster. And as I have already said, after three passes, I most certainly don't have a considerable excess of lather left over, again, suggesting I'm not overloading the brush. Perhaps, as an experiment, I should continue using this soap every day until the end, just to see how long it does last.
Here's a side on pic after just 4 shaves.

While there are certainly differences between the bases, I have e vegan formula and noticed the same thing. It is consumed much faster than other soaps I have had. I thought it was just the vegan formula or something I was doing wrong. Maybe it's just the hyper menthol content and the softness?

It is more than possible that my observation is simply menthol related with this particular soap. I'm no expert in these matters, however, in other brands of soap, I haven't noticed those containing menthol to be consumed any faster than those without. It's not a big issue;I was only curious as to whether others were experiencing similar results, and to have a possible explanation.

If I had to take a guess, I'd say that it's a combination of the high menthol content, which does indeed soften the soap (the vegan soap most of all), and some environmental factor. We haven't gotten reports from other folks about the Glissant version being used especially fast, and I haven't noticed any increased rate in my own jar (which I admittedly use only rarely because heavy mentholation is not my preference), but I'd be happy to send you another one if you'd like, Optometrist. Just shoot me a PM on the matter. Smile

Thanks for the reply, Will. It's not a big issue; just an observation I've had. Maybe I'm alone with Arctique on this one. Big Grin

Hi David, I have used my new tub of Arctique (3) times and haven't noticed but will break it out this week and report back.
