Barrister and Mann

Got the Adagio and splash from Barrister_N_Mann yesterday, and shaved with it today. Very fresh, bold scent, summery, lots of fruit and citrus notes, very pleasant. But what impressed me was how it lathered. I started loading an M&F Blonde Badger, and after what seemed like no time, the brush was loaded, and it went up on the face with paintbrush strokes with just the right amount of cushion and slickness. I'm guessing this has something to do with the newer glissant base, but whatever it is, it's impressive.

Thinking that it might have been 'beginners luck', I grabbed another brush, a larger Simpson Chubby 3, and same thing-it loaded in no time. Hand lathered just to see what the result was. The lather had a beautiful glossy look, and felt so good in the hand that I wished I could have shaven again!

If by "beginner's luck" you are implying that Adagio was your first Barrister and Mann experience, all I can say is, what took you so long? Now you know what the rest of us have known for quite some time, and we haven't been trying to keep it a secret either. Enjoy!

If by "beginner's luck" you are implying that Adagio was your first Barrister and Mann experience, all I can say is, what took you so long?  Now you know what the rest of us have known for quite some time, and we haven't been trying to keep it a secret either.  Enjoy!

Agreed! B&M is top notch soap with top notch scents. That goes for the original White Label formula, Glissant, and Latha.

No, I think I now have 11 or 12 of the Barrister_N_Mann  soaps.  This was just the first time that I tried the Adagio and the new Glissant base.  Wonderful products!

Would anyone care to recommend a B&M soap for me?I have wanted to give them a go,just never have gotten around to it.What should I look for in terms of formula versions or "base"?
Also I tend to like the bright citrus type scents and cologne type(think TD'H,Aventus types)scents.Based on that what would you folks recommend?
Placing a order to restock some blades and such,may throw on a tub of B&M with my order.

WVHDRyder You can't go wrong with any of the formulations. The Original White Label, Glissant (new) and Latha are all great. For scents that you might like I would suggest Adagio or 42 (Glissant), Latha Limon (Latha obviously) or Seville (White Label, this is an awesome barbershop scent with a citrus twist). Also, I think the Cologne Russe is supposed to be somewhat citrusy although I have never smelled it. Maybe someone else can chime in with their opinion of it. Rest assured though, whatever scent you get, you will not be disappointed with the performance.

How do you know that the Adagio you are buying is the Glissant version?   The description of the Adagio listed on Maggard states that, "Adagio is being offered in our highly acclaimed Glissant soap base"...does that mean that there are two version (a normal and a Glissant version), or is it the Glissant version they are selling?   I believe that only the Glissant Adagio is available now, but I want to make sure that is the case before I place and order.
