BTW, the splash is a great performer too.  I just wish the scent would last longer than 15-20 minutes.  Your Leviathan splash (the first of your aftershaves I bought, and one which I hope to always have on hand), I catch the fragrance on me 4 or 5 hours later.  I would pay extra money to have the Cologne Russe scent last longer, in fact I would buy a cologne or EDT of that scent should you ever venture in that direction.

My wife also enjoys your Velvet soap.  Don't tell anyone but I have used it on occasion too!

Finally, B&M first got my business and admiration with the black label Rosemary and Peppermint soap.  Any plans to bring that back or make an aftershave with that scent?

I'm glad you like it! You're one of the few people to ever say that it's short-lived, though. Most people find that it goes on for hours. But, since it's about 40% citrus oils (which are highly volatile), I figured there would be someone who had that experience eventually. Maybe I'll do a short run of a long-lasting version (there are tricks to making fragrances last longer).

Thrilled to hear that you and your wife are enjoying Velvet. Smile I'm afraid that there aren't any plans to bring back Rosemary & Peppermint at this time, but perhaps at some point in the future.

Looking forward to your thoughts!

Instead, we will now be releasing Arctique soap and splash in the Glissant and Tonique bases respectively on May 25th. Tell your friends!

What base did you use for last yrs release? When I compared the original to the new version I noticed the new version has a nice "shine" to it. I was thinking you might have snuck in a new base on us last yr without telling us.

We used White Label for last year's release (which I DID tell you Tongue ), which tolerated menthol FAR better than the vegan base did (which is what we used for the original). Glissant deals with that much menthol just fine (and is actually improved by the addition; it yields an incredibly dense, almost buttery lather). Smile

I would love to see a longer lasting version of Cologne Russe as well. Love the smell of it but after 30-45 minutes the scent is gone.

I mostly shave at night and in the morning when splashing cold water on my face I can normally smell the Leviathan, Fougere Classique, Night Music, Rhapsody, DFS, and Hallows scents but Cologne Russe is the only one that is non existent.

I tend to splash a little bit of the splashes before I start my day as well and a longer lasting version of Cologne Russe would be great.

I wonder if olfactory fatigue is at play here? I've not found Cologne Russe Tonique particularly short-lived. Not that I expect any aftershave to last me the whole day, but this one has always been fine for me.

FWIW I join the chorus for a longer lasting CRusse. I get pretty good scent mileage out of mine, but I like it so much that I greedily want it to last even longer!

I found Cologne Russe and Lavanille splashes to be very long lasting. I can still smell a little of the Lavanille that I put on 9 hours ago.
Perhaps olfactory fatigue does play a role.

A lot of things play a role such as perspiration, skin type, amount applied, etc. I am with you though, Lavanille lasts quite a while, as do Leviathan and Nigh Music. I haven't tried Cologne Russe yet, but I do have a sample of the soap which smells pretty awesome.

I don't find Cologne Russe to last very long either, just right. I don't care to overwhelm my co-workers.

I do really enjoy this scent though; it has really grown on me. It's my favorite aftershave pairing with Nuavia Blu. Not the same scent by any means, but I enjoy the way they work together.

^ This is definitely a combination that I enjoy as well. Nuàvia Blu & Cologne Russe work very well together.

Well said.  Main reason I don't judge fragrances, body chemistry has lots to do with the way it will react, including length and even scent.

Cologne Russe lasted pretty well on me, but not as long as Lavanille. The Fougere splash is long lasted, too, but the Kyovu Bay Rum fades quicker for me.
