I have to say, the new base is awesome. The old base is really nice also but much more difficult to lather if you have very hard water. Glissant solves this problem, adds a bit more slickness (or rather, makes it easier to adjust), and has a nicer post-shave feel.

I went and looked at your website at the ingredients lists and at the description of your latest release and can't find any reference to glissant I thought I'd peruse your DFS thread to see if you'd mentioned it but there's over 50 pages of posts and I don't have that much time. I'm sorry if you've already covered this ground and its my own inability to retain information but I'm curious about this glissant.
Thanks,
Mark
It's the new soap base we used in Le Grand Chypre, 2015 Fireside, and Night Music. Slicker, easier to lather, hard water resistant. We'll be moving the rest of our line over to the new base over the course of the year.
Thanks Will, kwsher reminded me what it was ....and also that I'm more forgetful now than I used to be. At least I suspect so but I couldn't tell you for sure, my memory being what it is. LGC is a slick soap for sure, although I seem to recall all of your soaps being slick, not quite as much as LGC but really nice. I have a water softener installed.
Cheers,
Mark (I think )

Same soap colored differently due to oxidation of the vanillin, same as Lavanille.

OK, thanks, it looks quite different than Lavanille - when you look through the transparent side of the container its looks like 2 different colours were stirred together like a chocolate and vanilla ice cream swirl. It must start oxidizing quickly, like before its even poured into the containers.

That's how my Lavanille looks.
