I bought >3 months ago. I hope, problem in international delivery. And then I thought that you had a defective batch of soap. It's sad that it happened. Thanks for the clarification!

No, the defect was limited to one batch, and was due entirely to a lack of fragrance. There was never anything wrong with the base itself. Sounds like something happened to the Nocturne in the course of its transit. Undecided

It smells a lot like Ariana and Evans Uno.  Does anyone else smell a similarity?

If it does, then they're both based on the same fragrance. I've never smelled Uno, so I cannot comment.

Have there been any changes with the Excelsior base over the months?

A friend with Vespers let me use it for a week and I lent him Behold the Whatsis and we both noticed that the performance was different with the Behold earning INCREDIBLE status for us both. If the formulas are the same, what role does the scent (fragrance oils) play in a soaps overall performance?

Nope, no changes. Fragrance won't really have much of an effect, except perhaps to soften the soap a bit and allow you to pick up more of the solids. That might make it denser and slicker, but which fragrance materials are used shouldn't really have any effect otherwise. Smile

I picked up a tub of Saeryan from Top of the Chain recently and used it on Monday - its wonderful. I have a tub of the original white label classic from the original release as well. It really is a great spring / early summer scent that makes the morning shave a pleasurable experience . Happy2

If you use terror after shave. Make sure you wash your hands. Cause I didn’t and I had to p a hour later and now parts of the dirty south are frozen over.

Does B&M have a soap close to the le petit chypre that was from the latha line? I love the smell of this soap.

What is your explanation of the scent of Terror?

**OK, I could not wait and have Terror on the way. Looking forward to trying. SAD in full effect!

It really smells like cold water. Plus some peppermint.

Really don’t have to much of a smell. It’s a interesting soap to use I can tell you that.

Intrigued but slim chance I'll bite. Besides I read (and posted) over at B&B about the amount of this synthetic cooling stuff in the soap. Sounds like B&M went overboard with it for which I am not interested in having 7+ hour face frost let alone 60 minutes. Obviously this is not meant for me so I will move along Wink
