Since Top of the Chain discontinued their program to do so, Italian Barber is the only company able to ship alcoholic items, and the costs for such parcels are fairly high, I believe. It is simply not feasible for small American manufacturers to ship such goods legally.
Understood.  I don't keep up with it because it doesn't impact me, but I feel for those who want access to the products.  I just thought Maggard factored in somehow in the past.  I must have just mis-remembered it.

Oh no, they do. Maggard offers incredibly low international rates for non-alcoholic products. It's just the alcohol where we run into snags.

If Canada counts as international shipping, I can confirm that I have received splashes from WCS, a number of times with no issues.
I've also received splashes from Maggard but that was almost a year ago, so the rules may have changed.

Weird. USPS Publication 52, §621.1 prohibits flammable and combustible liquids under Hazardous Material Class 3. Every time I have spoken with the folks at Maggard or WCS, they have told me unequivocally that they don't ship flammable materials internationally. Maybe something made it through the fulfillment teams? That's really the only explanation I would have for it.

Whoops. I too am aware that it's prohibited to ship them, so I hope I haven't got anyone in trouble. I wonder if ground shipping is the loophole.

Oh no, not on my account. Mistakes happen. I just don't really know how they would have gotten shipped otherwise, so I was offering some speculation. No harm, no foul. Smile

I believe the prohibition on shipping is due to flammability, so these things are not supposed to get on aircraft, however due to the large land border we share it is allowed, I think to play it safe some just don't even go down that road. I've received Aftershave from the US no problems, but some will not ship it and that's fine it's their business. I eventually just got a re-shipper so I can get badger brushes and aftershaves, but before I set up the mailbox I asked specifically and they said no problem shipping AS as everything is done by ground shipping.

Very interesting! We ship alcohol to our Canadian retailers via the ORM-D protocol, but my understanding was that ORM-D for international shipments only applies to B2B transactions and cannot be used to ship items directly to the consumer.

I really wish they would make this at least CLEAR to all of us, rather than having to play "follow the breadcrumbs." Hell, I'm an ATTORNEY and I find it incredibly frustrating!

Dang. Baudelaire must be popular. I got an email from west coast this morning at 6:30 and when I logged on 15 min later it was sold out again. I’m looking forward to doing a Baudelaire vertical testing with my black label, glissant?, and the new base. The new splash formula is awesome. I did get to test that vs the old Baudelaire.

In what way is it subjectively "awesome"? Just curious how in real world application, despite the ingredients, that it was noticeably better than the previous formula. I have trouble really evaluating post products, particularly if the post-shave of the soap is up to current standards. I'm interested in hearing your thoughts on it. Thanks!
