As a fan of all things berries, I think Patches just about takes the cake. Strawberries and vanilla (plus basil and black pepper) in a robust scent strength... WIN!
Here's my in-depth review of Patches (with some other very interesting bits) for the curious.

been a while for me since I smelled the barrister reserve classic aftershave. I just picked up a bottle from maggard's and to my nose it smells very close to spice. is this how it's supposed to smell? if not, perhaps I got a bottle that was filled with the wrong aftershave...

No it should not smell close to spice at all. Spice is pretty much a dead ringer for old spice and classic is more of a lighter classic clean smell. My descriptions above do neither scent justice, but that’s the best comparisons I could come up with.

Spice smells like Old Spice for a reason - because it is. The old version from Shulton, to be exact. As for Classic, that's Gillette's Sun Up.

Some people confuse them because they're both fairly powdery out of the bottle. I definitely didn't mis-fill a bottle, though. Promise.

in other words, I should put some on my skin and give it a sniff to see if it remains the same?

I didn't realize that you hadn't already. Yes, definitely do so. If you still can't smell the difference, I'll check them myself.

nah, not yet. I wasn't sure if I'd have problems trying to return it if I sampled the product. I'll try some later tonight.

You know, I was sitting on the fence with some of these later B&M releases. I wasn't sure about strawberries but I read a review recently that got me thinking....so I picked up a tub of Patches from Top of the Chain and it arrived yesterday. I used it this morning and all I can say is What Was I Thinking!? Man, its a great smelling soap and as with all B&M soaps, its a fantastic performer. I'm giving my head a shake now and am taking my own advice that I always give to people sitting on the fence on a B&M soap - Just Buy It!! I of course should have considered that even if a soap is promoted as having a strawberry fragrance, do I seriously think that Will is going to make a soap that smells like plain old strawberry?? Of course not, it smells magical with strawberry in it for sure but lots of awesome. Thanks Will. I won't go back on that fence, no sir, sitting on fences hurts your butt.
