The white/black label soaps were ahead of their time (the only difference is black label is better for harder water). Glissant is close, but improved in a few ways; namely slickness. Reserve is very good when it hits; but it has a learning curve. I waffle on it.

All covered in the History of Barrister and Mann of course. Wink

I used an old white label base soap today as well. I like glissant and the reserve is nice, but of all of the soaps the white label base seems to yield the best lather results for me.

The B&M white and black label soaps are excellent and more than hold their own against all the soap out there today - as BoarderPhreak said, ahead of their time and even considering all of the discontinued scents, there isn't one I don't like.

You're not in need of more, are you? Wink

It is indeed a heavenly smelling soap!

What kind of question is that? I'm always in "need" of more soap Big Grin I had two sets of the original Roam + Kyovu but PIFd one set to a friend. I'd bought the second set when Will cleared out the then "unpopular" Roam at a discount. How times change. I have picked up a tub of Roam in Glissant so I'll be able to slowly nurse the original into oblivion.

I heard many great things about Diamond.
When it can be expected? Or can it? I would like to have one seasonal or limited BM, Roam wasn't my thing really, now I am considering buying 42 or waiting for Diamond....

If we do Diamond again (which is still up in the air), it won't be until next year, I'm afraid. Also, Maggard has samples of pretty much all of our products, to help avoid full purchases of things you don't like. Smile

If Roam wasn't your thing, I might get samples of Diamond and 42 before buying if I were you. I would put Diamond closer to Roam and Petrichor on the scent "family" scale (is there such a thing?). I'm not saying that they're the same just related in that earthy kind of way. 42 is beautiful and I can't imagine that you'd be unhappy with that choice.

Ask and ye shall receive Happy2 So I would put 42 somewhere in the floral notes and Diamond in the fresh notes....I think. Does dirt fall into the green notes?

Yes, it belongs to the "Earthy" sub-family (shown in more detail here). However, I would actually classify Diamond as a gourmand because its primary fragrance constituents are comprised of beer/pretzels, caramel, and popcorn. One of our British customers has been known to compare it quite strongly to banoffee pie, which, having now tried the latter, I can definitely see.

That second, more detailed wheel is a keeper. Thanks!
