You know you want to read this in-depth review of Barrister and Mann Fougère Gothique (in two parts no less) which also features the new bronze razor from Timeless Razor and a new brush from Wild West Brushworks to boot.
This particular launch was especially challenging because it had so many component parts - Soap, Aftershave, Razor Stand, T-Shirt, EDP and Coffret. Unfortunately, the issue with the Aftershave cap was unavoidable because it was the only one that fit the bottle. We wanted to use the dark gray bottle to show off the label. The issue with the wrong base listed on the label was completely our fault. Sorry about any inconvenience.

Don't sweat it! We appreciate the work you guys have done in bringing us this amaaaazing scent and all the goodies!
I'm probably the minority but the Gothique has some heavy smell about it that immediately makes me a little nauseous.
I'm not going to judge the scent as good or bad because it's a YMMV thing. But I'm curious what's so heady about it to me for future reference.
It's massively powerful compared to all other splashes (and I have tried 85% of B&M products). There is just something potent in this one (for me).

The most prominent notes are mushroom, which is quite earthy and prevalent at first. There's also the oakmoss, which is the hard-hitting green component. Tuberose is floral; I'm not convinced that would do it.

Good thing I wasn't trying to convince anyone. Rose even in moderate amounts gives me a headache (even if I like the fragrance), and it tends to pierce through due to that sensitivity. Of course, that is a very subjective "problem". Tuberose isn't rose, but it has that characteristic, albeit much more tolerable for me. I was simply giving my personal insight as opposed to the prominence. Like you, I have been enjoying the unmacerated EdP for a few weeks, and I absolutely love this fragrance. I've noted just for this relatively short time, the decant has transformed into an even more enjoyable fragrance.

Sleeper said it was a very heavy/potent smell, so I went by that. Tuberose (to me) doesn't stand out nearly as much as the other notes in this accord. For sure, it's a YMMV thing. If it gives you a headache, it's conceivable it makes him nauseated. But the heaviest note is probably the mushroom and I suspect more than a few people might find its earthiness off-putting. Personally, yeah... I love the scent. I just grabbed a back-up tub of soap today.
Am I the only person who hasn't got his FG yet?
I had to order from a Canadian vendor because B&M no longer ships out of the US and I guess there were delays getting product. Supposed to ship tomorrow. Its not like I'm short of soap but I do feel a little like a person showing up with my paper hat and noise maker to the new years eve party..... on January 5! Happy New Year! Everybody went home a long time ago. I guess we'll just have to have another party.

My set(s) are due to arrive today. Unfortunately, today's not a shave day for me. Equally unfortunate is the fact that MLS's Unforgiven is due to arrive at the same time. I really wish these artisans would better stagger their products.
