Barrister and Mann

Will doesn't owe anyone an explanation as to why he's stepping away, nor do I think he's looking for anyone's sympathy. If I recall correctly he owns the company and he makes the decisions, including his availability on social media. Will made a great point- artisans are people which which the community does forget, sometimes by mistake, but sometimes because all people want to do is piss and moan about something. At the end of the day it's a shaving product. I'll take a healthy Will any day over one that's been beaten down by idiots expecting explanations or complaining about artwork and emails.

On the off chance that Will might see this post I'd like to thank him and Barrister and Mann for his support and dedication to his craft, the community and DFS. You only have to look at the size of this thread to know that Will has gone above and beyond in his service to DFS members. There hasn't been a question that has gone unanswered or missed comment or feedback when required. Well done Will. I'm actually a little surprised its taken as long as it has to reach this point - I'm a middle aged person who doesn't do the social media thing (apart from DFS) and its always amazed me what the artisans and vendors have been willing to put up with in the name of customer service. I know its more than I could handle and I haven't even seen most of the really negative stuff that I know goes on. While it is a little disappointing that we'll no longer have such unfettered access to Will's thoughts, opinions and perspective, I'm grateful for everything that he has done up to this point and I can certainly appreciate Will's rationale for stepping back. As the song goes..."you've got to eliminate the negative, accentuate the positive..."

I wish Will and Barrister and Mann the best of luck, success, health and happiness and I hope to continue to follow your exploits via your website and your newsletter...not to mention continuing to add to my already impressive collection of B&M products.

Great post Marko, in particular the above sentiment.  I know I followed Will to this site as having that access was awesome.  Certainly we aren't owed that personal connection but it's often what makes an artisan products appealing.  However doing so on multiple platforms, all day, every day can become a dangerous obsession.  If Will recognised a growing problem trying to keep up with it all then I'm glad he has decided to formalise his customer service as his business grows.  Dust off that camera, meet some friends at the pub, and get yourself offline more often.  Who knows where your next inspiration will come from.  All the best Will!

I have a question for all who have had LLCW. How prominent is the Cedarwood. Does the Cedarwood play a major part, or is it more subtle. I'm definitley no good at describing scents to the scent profile. I'm probably going to pick one up along with the Reserve Fern, Lavender, and Cool, But just wondering about the LLCW.

Maggards has samples of it now if you'd like to order that first.

I have a tub of white label LLCW and its a nice scent - the lavender and the cedar are prominent with the lime in the background to my nose. If you haven't got this one in your collection I think its worth having.
