Barrister_N_Mann , any recommendation for aftershaves to pair with Diamond and Soapmakers of Awesometown?

This!

I'd go with Cologne Russe for Diamond and Rhapsody for Awesometown, myself, though I also think that Reserve Spice works well with the latter. Smile

I had not considered either pairing. Interesting.

For some time I've been reading positive reviews on the scent of Night Music. I do not like the smell of vanilla in my soaps so I have always written it off. I also am not a fan of Strawberry so more reason to write it off. I recently discovered Tampa Shave Co through FB and they had some in stock. Although they are a two hour round trip drive from the beaches, I gave in to temptation and made the drive just to smell it. While I do love many of Will's scents, I always describe them as polarizing. You either love or hate most of his scents. There are very few with middle ground IMO.

Long story short, I cannot believe how great this soap smells. It's being used tonight. Despite the warnings that it may discolor my brush, I'm using my Semogue 2 band (the one from the horn handled batch, not the SOC one). Looking forward to the shave!

I pair Diamond with vintage Canoe. By the way Will, the fragrance is identical to your previously issued Diamond, it is a baseball lovers dream shave!

Received Diamond today from Maggard's and went with Chiseled Face's Summer Storm. Thinking tomorrow I will go with CF's Sherlock.

The mailman left me presents on the porch today. Big ol' box of Diamond, Awesometown, and Petrichor. I have to say, I really like the new batch of petrichor. I know the base is different from the original, but the scent seems a little different as well. Maybe its just because it isn't 3 years old. It seems a little less dirt-like and a little more plant based. I really really dig it. Great job Will. I appreciate you bringing back some of the throwback scents.

Promise I haven't changed it. Smile Glad you like it, though!

What I've learned is that the whole is often greater than the sum of its parts and its very hard to tell from reading a scent profile. Some of my favourite soaps don't smell anything like what i imagined they would from reading the profile. Of course the down side of this is, with most soap shopping being done soap unsmelled over the internet I've amassed quite a collection of soap, some good some not so good. I know that if I had an opportunity to smell every soap I have before buying there are several I wouldn't have bought but then the flip side of the coin is that I'd end up buying those other ones that I probably wouldn't have ordered based on the scent profile but turn out to smell wonderful. There really is no escape is there? I'm not much of a sample buyer being the eternal optimist everything I buy is going to be great.

And don't worry too much about the brush discolouration - it will rinse out eventually
