Hi Will,

after the first shock about the bad news i must confess i was maybe a bit harsh with my critics. Apologise for that.

It is for sure your very own decision, whether to ship international or not. I understand the reason

It is your business, so you have to take care of it. And if the international shipping requires too much ressources and affects your business in a negative way, it´s a reason i am absolutely fine with. Sad, but understandable.
But better don't state

because
1.) Maggard was offering that cheaper option for int. shipping quite a while ago (when ordering from Maggard, i do not use that cheap economy rate option, because post runtime is significant longer with that one)
2.) that is obviously NOT the reason why you stop int. shipping. I mean, i am ordering shaving stuff from the US for years, regardless the expensive shipping rates. I am fine with that.
Stating you stop int. shipping because you want to save my money... uhm, that´s implausible ;-).

Anyways, nice to hear that preorders will be available at Maggards as well, that was my biggest concern. Love your soaps, apologise again.

They were, but we've been going back and forth for awhile, trying to determine if it was cost-effective for us to do it this way. And I wasn't going to suddenly sever a major arm of the business in the height of our holiday season. That would have been insane.

And, while your decision to pay more for the shipping is absolutely your choice, the majority of folks will choose the cheaper, if slower, option, so we still manage to save our customers money on shipping, if not on product. Big Grin But I'm glad that you're more amenable to the idea!

Will,

Just wanted to mention that I was a little scared at first as well when I saw that you where not going to ship internationally and potentially miss out on some of your LEs. Now I understand that it will make it easier for you and hopefully there will be bigger quantities and more places to get them from than previously. However my main reason (appart from the LE's) for me shopping from you is that I support you directly. Hence giving you a bigger margin. This is the reason why I try to buy directly from the producer if it is an artisanal soap maker that I enjoy hoping that it will help them to be able to live on it. I am happy to pay some extra if it helps the soap maker.

It's very much appreciated. Smile We get a lot of complaints about the high costs of international shipping (as if we have some control over it) and, judging from what Maggard has told us, countless more simply buy from them in order to save money. Since international is quite a problem for us otherwise, especially regarding when packages disappear overseas, it's far more efficient to let our retailers, many of whom are better equipped than we are to deal with such things, take over that part of our shipping.

I, for one, would prefer to purchase B&M products through Maggards. I definitely don't need more soap so I'm ever in rush. That said Maggards are always very quick to dispatch and delivery is under 3 weeks. Generally I like being able to shop their huge range along with B&M offerings. The cost of shopping is certainly something most folks would think about. If B&M has grown to the extent their distribution channels include LE offerings then there isn't a problem. I hate needing to place a one-off order at great expense direct from an artisan. Paying exorbitant costs for postage doesn't benefit the artisan when they're just passing your 'contribution' to the post office.

We should be congratulating Will for having grown his business to the extent that all his offerings are available through distribution channels better suited for international trade.

Yep. Only difference is that these are white and screen printed. But, otherwise, the jars are identical.

Will, I'm sure you've explained this, but I'm wondering about whether the Leviathan and Seville, as sold today on Amazon Prime, are the glissant versions. The seller is EliteEdge. The Seville label seems to be the awesome new packaging, and the Leviathan label seems to be the older blue label packaging. Thanks, and keep up the great work--had a great shave with Hallows this morning!
