Someone once told me I could just look for the Hydrolized silk protein at the end of the ingredient list and it is glissant. That is when I got really confused when I checked my 2016 Hallows a couple weeks ago and didn't see that ingredient. I'm glad I'm not going crazy. So is the HSP a giveaway for the glissant base?

Also, the new release schedule comes out around January of February usually?

No, the presence of high oleic safflower oil will indicate that it's Glissant. We use silk protein in both.

We have not yet decided when we will be releasing the new schedule yet. Apologies. Undecided

Perfect! I probably got the ingredient mixed up, that one sounds familiar.

And no apologies needed. Thanks for the response.

I don't think any of us were complaining. I never would have known my 2015 edition was "missing" a label. I did notice there wasn't an ingredients list when I received it, but I'd assumed that was by minimalist design and artisan's discretion. I do understand Will's comment that feedback is not the impetus for their considering retiring Hallows. He made it clear it's logistical. That said, perhaps it will be like childbirth: give it a year, and they'll forget the pain and be willing to do it all over again. Wink . Regardless, I'll be holding onto my back-up Hallows sets like, um, grim death.

What if we pretend that we didn't complain? Return? ?

It's honestly not our customers. There were SO may problems with this year's release that happened completely out of public view. Literally everything that could have gone wrong did. Long, nightmarish story.

We haven't made the decision yet, but it's not a knee-jerk reaction to a couple of complaints; it's a judgement that perhaps the soap is just so logistically difficult because of its reputation that it might kill both Mom and myself the next time we attempt it.

Will, I really hate to hear that, both selfishly and sympathetically. I'm in love with the scent, and use the aftershave as a cologne even on days I don't shave.
Guess I need to stock up on it while I can Big Grin Already have a set of soap, A/S, and a t-shirt.

Sucks that soap poses that much of a hassle.

That's my understanding too.

Will, if you were to stop producing Hallows for the reasons you indicate (which could have happened with any other soap), would you consider licensing the scent formula to another Soaper? That way you could get out from under the curse and still earn a royalty from sales while customers would get their beloved Hallows. Win win.

Now, about this curse. Was this year's label image an artistic rendering or was it based on an actual x-ray of a human skull? If its the latter I'd say that's the source of your curse. It could be the malignant spirit of the owner of that skull seeking his share of the profits. Big Grin I'm kidding actually I don't believe in curses. Except for the curse on the Toronto Maple Leafs stemming from Punch Imlach's reprehensible treatment of Frank Mahovlich back in 1967

I would be really disappointed if hallows was not brought back. It is one of my favorite b&m soaps. Of course, pretty much everything Will puts out is liquid gold, so I wouldn't want any of them to get discontinued.

On a separate note: Are diamond and nocturne returning soon?? I hope??!!

Wow. Not your run of the mill double tap. I'll bet that worker had wired the safety back - framers do that so they can bump nail rather than have to go through the long drawn out process of depressing the safety tip then pulling the trigger, let me tell you, that process takes endless tenths of seconds to do and in the framing business time is money. A properly disabled safety mechanism can make you easy $10 to $15 extra per year, well worth the risk.

I think if Will returns to the stylized artist's rendition of a skull the curse will be broken. Should probably do an exorcism just to be safe.Big Grin

No, we wouldn't license it. But I'm serious: We haven't made the decision yet. It's just something that's on the table.

Diamond maybe (call has not yet been made), Nocturne probably not. Apologies.
