Barbershop is insidious!

Started a few months ago with Clubguy. Wasn't wild about it on first whiff, but every time I used it it smelled better. A friendly sort of scent.

Next tried Dr. Jon's Classic. Mostly smells to me like turmeric, not a particularly comfortable scent, but one I have positive associations with (Indian food helps with arthritis pain). The first whiff was kind of off-putting, but again, after a couple of uses I found myself wanting more...

Now I'm onto something by Black Ship (can't keep the names straight)...I must haz all teh [vegan] Barbershops...

All of those are tallow except Black Ship, PAA, Route 66 and Soap Commander. I think the OP is looking for vegan soaps specifically. I too love a good barbershop scent.

CaD I've tried, it's the only one that hasn't grown on me. Ordered a sample of SC Honor (along with a few others), it should show up at my door on Friday.

Wholly Kaw has a vegan formula now as well, I think it's pretty recent. I just won a tub of King of Oud that should also be showing up soon, don't know if they sent me the vegan formula; if not, I'll probably have to pass it forward.

WhollyKaw has been making vegan soaps for a while (their original soaps were all vegan), but lately, they have been tweaking the formula with the special releases.

I’ve read that even the original formula is great. The special edition Dance of Agrumes I have is exceptional, and the vegan Merchant of Tobacco, which I just recently received, has once again been tweaked with the addition of mango oil.

If your King of Oud happens to be a tallow soap, I’d definitely recommend trying to get your hands on one of the vegan ones.

Wholly Kaw's vegan soaps have a yellow label so there's no mistaking them. They are very nice, you have to ensure you add enough water as you go but otherwise really nice. I have Melange de Santal and Twice as Spice and they smell great. I bought my brother a tub of King of Oud in vegan and he loves it.

Apparently, tallow soaps sell so much more than vegan soaps, that many retailers only choose to carry the tallow versions.
