Washer or no washer?  I see in pictures the new production model is show with a washer.  The prototype currently arrived without a washer.  What is the word as to whether a washer is necessary, recommended or discouraged?  I know some of us have strong feelings both ways.  Thanks.  Eagerly waiting for hair to grow so I can try it out!

The washer is provider with the production model to prevent metal on metal contact during shipping. The razor was not designed to require a washer during use.
