That's awesome Mark! Thank you so much for taking part, and really glad you enjoyed your time with the Drakkant!

The Drakant Razor arrived today.  I will shave with it tomorrow.  From Roy UT to Phoenix to San Francisco back to Phoenix back to San Francisco to Tacoma to Seattle in 5 days.  USPS first class mail is all screwed up.

My morning shave went well. Two days growth removed efficiently in one pass, with minimal blade feel.
I used a new Feather blade, and one of the Gentleman's Nod sample soaps included in the package.
The cutting angle is narrow, but I had no trouble finding and holding it.  I really like the handle;
it is very grippy, but if I had my choice it would be 10 mm shorter.  I would also eliminate the concavity on top of the topcap.  It serves no purpose, makes the head thicker, and can accumulate debris.

The shave was excellent with a Feather blade, but I don't think it would have been as good with a milder blade.  For my next shave (Friday morning) I'm going use a milder (Voskhod) blade and see if my suspicions are correct.

The second shave went well.  The Voskhod blade performed better than expected, but some touch up buffing was required, unlike with the Feather.  I still managed to get a good one pass shave from the Drakkant Razor.    I used the same Gentleman's Nod "Vincent" soap as with the first shave.  It's an excellent shave soap, which I highly recommend.  Since this is a very forgiving razor, for the third (and last) shave I'm going back to the Feather blade and put two shims under it to widen the blade gap and maybe increase the blade exposure.

Ooooh! Excited to hear what happens when you increase the gap and go back to the Feather. Do you know what gap you'll be aiming for with the shims? I'm actually having a heavy (.98 mm) plate and open comb heavy plate prototyped along with the production razors, with hopes of having them released in late summer or early fall.

I have no way of measuring the gap.  It will be 0.73 mm + the thickness of 2 shims made from Feather blades.  It should increase the blade gap, and possibly change the angle of attack, but not alter the blade exposure or blade reveal.  I'll report back on Sunday morning.

Blades are around .1 mm thick, so the shims should add roughly .2 mm to the gap, bringing it to roughly .93, without increasing the exposure.
