Hi All,

I've been in communication with Kaleb of Aylsworth Razors, the creator behind the new DE razor known as the Drakkant, to pass around 3 razors on the DFS forum - 2 in the United States and 1 in Canada.  The list will be a blend of DFS forum members and a mix from his instagram page.

Here's a short write up about the company and the razor from Kaleb:

Quote:There is saying in product design that states 'form follows function', meaning that the visual appearance of a product must necessarily be constrained by the way that it will be used. Aylsworth Razors was born out of the idea that perhaps that doesn't always have to be the case.

Founded by Kaleb Aylsworth, a Senior 3D artist in the AAA video game industry, the AR design philosophy hinges on the notion that the aesthetics of a razor play just as important a role in the pleasure one gets from a top notch wet shaving experience as the performance of the razor itself. That is why, when so often it seems that one must be sacrificed in service of the other, we have made it our unadulterated mission to achieve both in equal measures.

Enter the Drakkant. The newest precision engineered and design forward luxury double sided safety razor.

Forged from a foundation of inspired, eye catching, and unprecedentedly unique visual features, and with the help of some of the most trusted manufacturing names in the safety razor business (shoutouts to Jake of Yates Precision MFG and Steve of Alpha Shaving works!), our original razor concept has been meticulously engineered backward, fine tuning every aspect of its functional features and performance in order to ensure the ideal balance between visuals, power, and precision.

Made from 100% locally sourced 316 stainless steel, and bead blasted to striking matte finish, this comfortable yet efficient daily shaver features an optimized 24 degree blade angle, medium aggressive 0.73 mm blade gap, and microscopically past neutral blade exposure, enabling it to both plough through multiple days of growth in one or two easy passes, or provide that daily BBS with relative ease.

As visually striking as it is functional, the Drakkant (from the Nordic 'Dragon Edge') features a unique slotted top cap and base plate that invoke the essence of the iconic viking helmet and horns, while the cross fluted and helixed handle pattern likewise draw inspiration from the dragon scale plate and lamellar armor of days gone.

Layer onto that the functional design features of a low cap profile for reduced drag and efficiency, extra wide lather channels for an easier rinse, and blade clamping and support among the best in the game, and what you get is an absolute UNIT of a double sided safety razor that somehow manages to look both beastly and elegant in the process.

After many months of concepting, design, iteration, and testing, we couldn't be happier with where the Drakkant is now, and can't wait to hear what you fine lot have to say about it. Let the games begin.

Below will be the pass around list.  The standard pass around rules apply: keep the razor/items for 1 week, then ship them to the next person in line below your order.  If the user isn't tagged and/or a member on DFS, contact either myself or KalebAylsworth to get the name & shipping details for the next person.

Please share your thoughts on the forum as well as filling out this feedback survey Kaleb created, if possible.

If you'd like to be added to the list, please reply that you're in and mention the state you live in.  Do note that since this list will be blended between DFS users and people Kaleb knows, your order on the list might not be as you expect it initially.

This list is currently a work in progress and will be updated accordingly
