ANG69 and jiaconianni this is a special project LE custom so if you want to get in on this there is still time before the ship sails!!

You will need to PM me with an indication of what you want - Toner, Aftershave or Salve and how many of each and also provide me with your email that you use for PayPal purposes. Shawn will be sending out PayPal invoices when he's ready to go and the rest will work in the usual way.

Remember that if you are outside of the US you won't be able to have Aftershave (alcohol) shipped to you.

The notes are
-Bay leaf
-Vanilla
-Sandalwood
-Tonka bean
-Blackberry
-Neroli
-Coriander
-Cinnamon

It's a bay Chambord, if you will. A smoother bay scent. If bay rum is the scent of the ship's crew, this is the captain in his quarters. A rich and refined take on bay rum. Still room in the captain's quarters if anyone else wants on board.

hawns this sounds incredible. Confused

I was asked how I came up with the scent, not being a fan of bay rum, and I put this answer together. I thought it might help give people a better idea how the scent was conceived and what the goals were with it.

First I put together a couple bay oils with coriander and cinnamon to get the part of the scent that I don't dig. Then I used the vanilla scents with benzoin and tonka bean to mimic how the bay and rum interplay. Finally, I started looking around for inspiration to find scents that would make it into a scent that I might actually somewhat enjoy, and that's how the blackberry, neroli and sandalwood came into the picture.

I feel like the darker turn makes it feel richer and more regal, without being overly warm or sharp.

hawns thanks for the insight into the creative process, I'm really looking forward to getting a few bottles of this creation. Have you given any thought to a name for it?

I think the name is going to be Blackberry Blossom Bay. Going back to the idea of if bay rum is for pirates, this is would be for the more refined seafarer, I started thinking about steamboats going down the Mississippi River through St. Louis. I could imagine a collection of gentlemen, from river destinations like Memphis, New Orleans, and Baton Rouge congregating on the deck as the boat docks in the old city where the Gateway Arch now stands. This is a scent that I could imagine them smelling like as they listen to the band play "Blackberry Blossom" as they sun goes down behind the Old Cathedral and Old Courthouse, before they were considered to be old.

And having blackberry and blossom (neroli) in the scent list doesn't hurt, either.
