I don't have cable, live too far in the country for rabbit ears to pick up local TV, get my news rather selectively from the net, don't have a landline phone, don't Facebook, Twitter etc... Literally, my only social media outlet is shaving and fishing forums because I am generally kind of anti-social. I have enough "moral outrage" to spread around evenly, and am comfortable with my position without worrying that I am a hypocrite.

the point is, you're criticizing some soap maker for being 'exploitative' and 'low class' while tons of media outlets - whether on TV or online only - are doing the EXACT same thing to make money and draw people in by running stories about Prince rather than selling some soap.
I don't even know who this Shaver Heaven fellow is...
That is a perfectly good point, but I wasn't defending TMZ or the NY Daily Post here, and we weren't talking about the media in this thread. If we were, I would probably elect to keep my mouth shut in an effort to not be banned for uncouth behavior, because I despise them much more than some schmuck selling purple soap.
Two wrongs don't make a right, and pop culture is generally disgusting to me.
I will officially bow out, as I was not trying to start an argument.
