This is going to go against the grain of this thread, but...

I do not mind that Shaver Heaven made this soap. If someone enjoys Prince's music and appreciates Prince's artistry and wants to express this somehow after Prince's death, then I do not see an issue. If this person is a soap make and this is their 'art' then why not make a soap. It is same as a painter making a painting of Prince in his honor, and selling it.

Am I going to buy it? I probably will not as I have too many soaps already. Scent profile looks interesting enough though.

momor Because they STOLE his image and are using his likeness to promote a product for their own profit. You can't use someone's image on your product without permission....it is 100% wrong and even more so now that he is dead.

I can almost guarantee that is not licensed. If it is, I'll take it all back....but it's not.

But Shaver Heaven is from Australia. Can't blame us 'Muricans this time.

Like I said. This is my belief that this is not horrible. Does it break some usage law? Might be. A person has the right to point that out.

It gets tricky is with celebrities. Some places allow it after death, and some if the likeness is not used to indicate their endorsement. It is tricky enough that it probably is better to avoid it. I am sure that Shaver Heaven did not take that photo. So there is also the rights of the person who took that photo.

Canada does to be on the stricter side of enforcing this for all individuals (the best I can see).

Should the image be used? Probably not. Is it something I want to get upset about? Not really.

Man, the hate is unreal... I highly doubt Anthoney's soap and balm were inspired by greed. I see this as one artist paying homage to another artist he greatly admired with the one thing he expresses himself with... Soap. I get where everyone is coming from but dang, we're supposed to be a family in this community... how bout giving him the benefit of the doubt before crucifying him for something he didn't intend.

Yeah I agree it's just a tribute to an artist. After all we are talking about a shaving soap from Australia, he's is not going to make millions off of this, he is probably just a fan. If you don't like it...don't buy it.

No benefit of the doubt by me. It's embarrassing and a joke.

He stole his image and is profiting off his death. Nothing more, nothing less. It doesn't matter how many are made or what the item is, he is using image to promote his soap. It got me to look, I had never heard of these guys.

It isn't a tribute.
