Attars. Anthony Marmin, Ensar Oud, Ajmal....

Anyone else in love with perfume oils (attars)? After starting this journey I'd rather use any attar or even just sandalwood or Ruh Khus oil instead of any alcohol based perfume. Was just curious if there are others who love attars. A great place to start this journey is the YouTube channel Exotic scents and if you live in North America, the best online shop is Anthony Marmin or Terife Attars

and I agree, they’re a legit gateway to this universe without crazy expense. Sure, most of them are made from 2nd grade materials and their oud are mostly cultivated. But some others (like Sheikh Al Faransi) have aged so well that they’re up there with my noblest oils, definitely worth of a try.

Ruh khus, sandalwood, civet, musk, ambergris, castoreum... and then oud! From the funkiest Assam to the ethereal Japanese kyara, love pretty much everything around this side of perfumery!
Always surprise me to see how little it’s spread around the wetshaving scene, my interest essentially grew from there...

Ajmal

Coincidentally, I had been reading up on this house's offerings a bit, as it has been put forth as a quality-value proposition, and considering the (surprisingly appealing) rosiness of La Forêt de Liguest, it occurred to me this style is something Middle Eastern folks may be doing often and well.  Do you know of an Ajmal offering along the lines of La Forêt de Liguest, FlashOne?

What about Al Rehab/Crown?  Six bucks (at most) for six milliliters in a glass bottle.  Dakar, for me, not only beats current Drakkar Noir, it's a niche killer, and 1975 is so aromatherapeutic, inhaling it deeply makes the backs of my knees tingle. Weird, maybe, but olfaction is powerful and primal.

Sorry but can’t help on this... as famous the brand is, I’ve never tried anything from them, it’s one of those who are a pain to source here in Italy. I still got a few names in my wishlist (Dahn al Oudh Amiri, 1001 Nights Attar or Aristocrat) but really can’t tell if any of them - or others - share something with our beloved LFdL.
