ATT SE1 vs Vector?

Vector is a better shaver for both smoothness and efficiency.
ATT represents the old way of how making razors. Too many razors much more well constructed etc. right now. My opinion of course.

Occasionally a customer will let me know that they’re buying both a razor from me and one from a competitor and returning the one they like least. Sometimes they pick mine and sometimes not, but the customer definitely walks away informed and assured that they made the right choice.

What’s the point of telling you that they’re buying both? Sounds like a jerk thing to do.

Lol. It's not all that common, but it definitely happens.

From the first shave with the Vector I was getting spectacular results. It took a while for me to figure out how to get a comfortable shave though. Results were perfect, but the process was tuggy. Some of that was my unfamiliarity with the AC blade. The more I use it, the better I get with it and the more I like it. It's very addictive. I also have the Paradigm Ti. Between those two I have no interest in obtaining or trying any other AC razors. I still love my DEs, but for now I'm kind of stuck on the 2 ACs.

There are a few of us se1 fans. We're just a different crowd.

(sold my SE1 and SE2, have Vector and will buy another one in polished version)

ATT SE1 is perfect with a Proline.

A lot of people have used the SE1 with Feather or Kai blades and sold them never using a Schick Proline in it. Now comes the Vector when the Proline is popular. Proline blades are a lot better than the others and is key. Just my observation.

The SE1, General, Hawk, El Jefe, and Mr SE are all fine razors with a Proline, all are close in efficiency and smoothness.

With the SE1/Proline, I sculpt out a BBS finish that takes about 20 hours for stubble to break skin every shave.

I have no desire to buy a Vector, as good as it may be. I actually bought a second SE1 at half price on black Friday week.

I personally like the weight of the SE1, about 113 grams with the Atlas and over 120 grams with the Kronos handle.

I know that a couple of you have mentioned which material you're referring to when posting about the SE1, but did any of you use the aluminum one?

I should have clarified that in the OP. My mistake, as it's the Aluminum one that I'm currently looking at.

I imagine there'd be a difference between the two in terms of weight and how it would affect the performance, so just thought I'd ask and see.

Looks like I'll continue saving for the vector at this point.
