I'm having trouble with my Kronos plates. The M is too mild and the R plate is too aggressive for me. From M to R is a really big jump. I'm thinking of shimming the M but dont feel like messing around. Anybody else having this problem.

No problem here. I also found M to be too mild. R is good for me but I can understand the jump from M to R.

In fact, the composition of M-R-H GAP is huge: 0.25-0.58-0.91 mm

The S1 is in between the two if you can find one.

Wow. Thanks. Looks like it's an aluminum slant. It's got a wait time as well.
ATT and I are just not getting along. I've got to work on it. Love the look and feel in the hand, but not feeling the smoothness.

I’m not sure if this helps or not, but ATT razors work better with a shallow angle, safety bar or comb not touching the face.

The S1 I have is in stainless so I'm not sure how the aluminium one shaves.

I decided to use my ATT this week. I have the M2, R2, and H2. I used all 3 plates. I don't think there is much difference in aggressiveness between the M2 and R2, since the only difference that I can tell is the blade gap. The exposure looks the same. There is a noticeable jump in aggressiveness from the R2 to the H2. The H2 has more exposure and a larger gap. I would suggest using the M plate a little more to get a good feel for it, then go to the R plate. Once you get a feel for the M, the R should not be that much of a difference.
